I recently added a squad of Primaris Hellblasters to my Space Marine force, and they've quickly become a powerhouse on the battlefield. The models themselves are a real joy to build and paint—the iconic bulky armour, heavy weapons, and dynamic poses are instantly satisfying. Each figure fits together cleanly and details pop beautifully with just a basic paint job. On the tabletop, their performance is exceptional. Armed with plasma weapons, they put out devastating mid-range firepower, making them ideal for melting medium-armored targets or cutting through hordes with effective template blasts. The combo of body armour, Overwatch, and a range of special rules gives them great resilience, ensuring they stay in the fight longer. They’ve consistently outperformed my expectations in numerous games and become a dependable core of my firepower. While they’re not the cheapest unit by points, they deliver incredible value in terms of firepower-per-strength. Their biggest drawback is their lack of mobility—they’re foot sloggers unless supported by transports or Terrain cover. However, paired with some mobility options, they become lethal anchors in my advance. If you're building a Primaris-heavy force and need reliable, hard-hitting units that synergise with your army’s firepower, the Hellblasters are an excellent and thematic choice.
