Do i need to use flux with this product

Yes, indeed. You need apply Flux to remove old solder for better results.

Why does the description say "with flux" ? It makes it sound like it comes with flux pre-embedded in the braid.

All it is is a copper braid for soaking up solder

Can this be used to fix jewelery problems?

Solder wick is designed to attract solder and make the soldered connection neater and more streamlined. To fix jewelry, I'd think that the application of solder would be used, as required, but solder wick is typically used to attract solder when there is too much of it being used. The best course, I'd say, would be to take the item into a jewelerand then get an better opinion of how to go about the repair.
