Rectorseal 25631 4-Ounce No. 5 Pipe Thread Sealant

After using Rectorseal T+2 for years without a leak, I tried this 5 version on air compressor fittings because it semi-hardens when it dries, which might take the abuse and vibration of compressor lines better. Like T+2 it works great and hasn't leaked so far. Rectorseal is great stuff, it's made in USA and has never failed me on natural gas, pressure washers, and air compressors. When Teflon tape is included with a threaded pipe product, I always throw it away and use Rectorseal.

Do not waste your time with gas tape. This does the job. Overpriced by about $15. Local hardware stores carry for much less.

It is nice and sticky and sets up soft so it is easy to change fittings.
