War: Greatest Hits - Live [Blu-ray]

Overall this is a fun DVD to watch. My only complaint would be that Lonnie Jordan talks too much during some of the songs. That being said, it's still enjoyable and fun to watch and listen to.

I like the entire concert Howard Scott and the rest of the band jammed.

I bought this DVD after seeing WAR perform at Blues Alley in DC. The concert left me wanting so I ordered this Live DVD so I could see them perform as much as I wanted. Aside form Lonnie Jordan's constant rambling, the show is fabulous. War is still an excellent band. The new members (almost all of the band)are as good if not better than many of the original members. You can here all of the songs that made War the band that can still fill a concert hall with old school funk concert goers like myself. Just because you remember the 70's doesn't mean you can't still party like its the 80's!

War is my generation. I had several chances to see them at the top of their game and didn't. With only one original member and them sounding this good, I truly missed out. It is hard for me to grasp a fan of War who saw this CD and not rate it a 5 star. That is baffling. It's understandable if you saw them in their original form. If not, and you are a War fan you have to rate this concert a 5! This DVD is off da chain!!!!

Lead singer Lonnie Jordan of War really hams it up singing each song in this concert that I couldn't it watch anymore after the 3rd song. If performers would just sing the songs somewhat like the way we are used to hearing them, instead of (being a hambone) stretching out each song until you never want to hear it again. No thank you ! Where are my CDs lord? Stay away from this concert as you'll be doing what my wife and I did- Throwing your money away on buying this video concert , remembering when you last saw how good War used to be years ago in concert, thinking you will relive that magical concert..... I got news for you pal, this ain't that concert .

I saw this concert and thought it was great and the DVD helps you relive it. What people forget is Lonnie started this group and has kept it going so we can enjoy it. I had the pleasure of meeting him and now have a greater respect for the music. I especailly like the way Sal Rodriguez does his version of "So" I heard it on another CD and he does it soooo much better

I was very excited to finally get this DVD after several attempts to purchase it with no luck, from other websites. It is a Blu-ray but the colors are so washed out that it does not really matter how it was recorded. The surround sound is OK at best. The performance of the band could have been great, but it is not. The lead singer/ keyboard player talks way too much and sings way too little. Save your money and see it you can find it on Youtube, instead.
