I rotate my house phones out in my house, every few weeks. When I have to put this set away, it makes me upset a little because it works really well. After a week of having these 2 phones, I dropped 1 of the handsets on a metal bed rail. I was expecting it to break but it survived. I didn't realize that these phones were very solid. The speaker phone is loud and clear, unlike other phones that I swap it out with. Their is 4 ringtone options that it has. It's the first 4 tones that are on every vtech and at&t phones. There is no intercom feature on these phones. That's okay for me but others might want that. I do have the Answering Machine version of this set, so having no answering machine didn't bother me. Range distance is decent. I enjoy this set so much, to the point I bought the newer version of this, which allows the user to connect a Bluetooth headset to it. Overall it's a very good phone. I will recommend.

Good phone

The phone is perfect and with the two handsets it means I'm not running to answer the phone. My only issue is the river when calls come in that are so loud I can hear it when I leave my apartment and go downstairs outside. I have gone through all the instructions I can't find out how to turn it down on model VTECH VG101-21 . Anyone that knows how to turn the volume down on the ringer I would greatly appreciate you attaching and answer to this.

Great purchase and for a great price! Easy to set up, the numbers are larger so easy to read with or without glasses. Handset works clearly inside and outside my home. Clear communications and volume controls. Backlit shows who's calling and answering machine very easy to use. The Ringer and Ringtone tone settings are able to be adjusted to your personal choice. Shipped promptly!

I would probably give it a "5", but the volume range available for the answering machine announcement is TERRIBLE. Even at the lowest setting, it is LOUD when it picks up. My old VTech, I could run the announcement volume down to practically a whisper. This one, you can hear clearly from the other end of the house! I am going to have to put tape over the speaker or something.

Ended up throwing them in the trash after a month

Setup was easy. The only problem was the message light which shows 0 and constantly flashes. I can't find anything in the instructions about turning off the light.
