Bhagavad Gita

I own many different versions of the Bhagavad Gita, but I have to say this is the best translation of all that I have previously read including Prabupad’s. When I compare the translations, this one seems purer and closer to the true intent of the Gita. Swami Mukundananda is not “pushing” a unique mantra and he is not pushing a “meditation technique” although he advocates Bhakti, he does not scorn or ridicule those who practice meditation merely saying that by choosing Bhakti, one automatically gains the benefits of meditation when chanting the Holy Name. For me, this is the sanest translation that I have found so far.

Already blessed with a number of translations and commentaries of the Bhagavad-Gita, and seeing so many new commentaries appearing which are of lesser quality, I hesitated to order this edition. Researching Swami Mukundananda led me to his websites. I read his translations/commentaries there, and soon made that one of my favorite BG reference spots. Although of a different style, he is as dear to me now, as Nikhilananda, A. Paratharasy, Prabhupada, Roy Eugene Davis. His style is modern in expression and free in translation, colloquial, sensitive, rational and pragmatic, persuasive. This book is one of the six editions of the Bhagavad-Gita that I keep near me and read often.

This is one of the best translation and interpretation of Bhagavad Gita. The language is easy to follow. Swami Mukundananda provided us many gems from Upanishad, Veda and Dharmapada while explaining verses. This version becomes my daily companion.

I will say it is one of the best Gita commentaries out there. Swamiji is such a learned, humble, and loving devotee of Shri Radha Krishna. You can experience the depth of his knowledge and devotion from this commentary.I still repeat chapters from time to time and get awestruck by the sheer amount of sweet details Swamiji has poured into this commentary of Geeta. After reading the book, I understood how difficult it is to comprehend the philosophy of Gita without a learned scholar shedding his perspective from his direct experience. It's well bounded. Has a protected cover for the hard back. I was surprised at how big it is which is great. If you've ever heard Swami Mukundananda on YouTube or any other platform, I strongly suggest you go listen to him. I already have a Gita but after listening to him for a while now, I decided to buy this because his commentary is truly rich in knowledge and life application. I suggest this for all people, all faiths, all religions.

I have several different commentary books. This one is very well done. My only complaint is that it came with several damaged pages, not unreadable, but edges damaged.

For the first time in history, an English translation of the Gita than a reader can clearly understand and use the divine knowledge from God in everyday life. For anyone on a spiritual path, this knowledge will be a great beginning. This should be read and absorbed in the heart and then read again and again. When it comes to works written on spiritual topic in the modern era, this is by far the most important and the greatest.

It's very lucid and simple exposition of such complex yet sublime subject. I have read 4-5 versions of various translations/ commentaries in English, Hindi & Tamil. This is simplest and most easily readable version. Youngsters esp those not familiar/ conversant with Hindu philosophy would be understand it very easily.. Hare Krishna!!

A simplfied version of the actual Gita. Enjoyed reading it.

I have watched and read Bhagavad Gita numerous times. This book represents with more clear and comprehensive commentary by Swamiji. Shri Prabhupad commentary on Gita is great and wonderful. But Swamiji commentary gives you more examples and compare with modern age examples along with quotes and references from Indian saints.I ordered this book after watching more than 1000 hrs of video on Gita on Swamiji channel. That inspired me to order the book which can remain with me forever and carry anywhere ai can go.

I had come across about this book through Amazon only. The greatest book which I had ever read. I had studied so many Gita explanation but it appears to me that most of the explanation are biased and centre about a specific school of Hinduism. No neutral explanation I had rarely come across. After reading this Gita Explanation..The song of God..my life had been greatly changed. Out of 18 chapters (700 Slokas), every Chapter had its explanation, so that a new reader can gasp the synopsis of the Chapter and the necessity of this particular Chapter.The explanation of each each sloka has been given in a simple, lucid and very well-reasoned way in a modern day scientific temperament and the strong logic behind each each Sloka as explained by respected Swamiji could not be fought and challenged at any cost.Tge Explanation are so much vivid, well-reasoned, strong and with the support of other relevant Hindu Scriptures.After studying this book (Though, I am still Studying this book as it is not so easy to gasp the meaning and assimilation of those well-explained 700 Slokas), I had purchased all the books written by Swami Mukundananda through Amazon.The Scientific temperament and rationale explaintaination of the Gita Sloka is possible by Swamiji appears as he is an IIT Delhi-IIMC alumni who has renounced this material world by his own volition and not for the fear of "Samsara" and "failure in life" but for seeking his "True-Self".Strictly speaking, I had become an ardent follower of Swami Ji and following him in all the Social media and listening his lectures and finding a great peace in myself.I would like to thank the Amazon Team to help me in getting such a wonderful book at a reasonable price within a minimal time.Let Swamiji may live 100 years and enlighten so many falling soul like me.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
