Great quality knife.
Bought two of these. One for my husband and one for white elephant gift. It was very popular at the white elephant party and my husband is still happy with his gift. He really likes the weight of this knife. Clip had to go.

Discontinued but not forgotten...
Love this knife. I also have the aluminum version and it's one of my all time favorite edc knives, more beloved than some others I own that are ten times the cost. When I realized this model has been discontinued I purchased the copper version as well. This knife is just beautiful. The blade is solid with absolutely no play in any direction. It opens and closes super smoothly with a satisfying ping. The knife was kinda stiff and the lock button was a bit sticky at first but a bit of breaking in and then a tiny drop of Superlube fixed that completely. Probably gonna get one of the XL versions too before they are gone forever. This knife is an absolute bargain for the price and I have zero regrets about purchasing another one.

It’s built well but I don’t like the handle
The media could not be loaded. I love Kizer knives and just cannot give them a bad review but I do have some complaints about this knife but it could be perfect for you.first off the handle is just square and feels off it’s a tad short so it doesn’t fit well in the hand on deployment and it sounds hollow it’s not really hollow it’s the aluminum but sounds funny opening and closing,I really wanted to have a little weight with this knife but it’s extremely lightweight and the texture is kinda like really fine sandpaper great for grip but it kinda sands your skin off (not painfully)!! The blade is perfect very sharp but no jimping, beautiful knife but that handle just sucks go for the copper one if you want weight and these push button locks work but they seem to really slow the blade down and if you close it to hard the blade bounces back up and the knife handle rings out in a noise like a tin can I have a cheap Kizer ppy that’s now discontinued but it’s the smoothest thing ever I was hoping for that I think the liner locks with thumb studs are best for that fidget factor which this knife doesn’t have ,going to send it back for something my style hope this helps someone

Kizer Serape Original: The Pocket Knife That Knows How to Party
The Kizer Serape Original isn’t just a knife—it’s a vibe. This thing oozes cool with its colorful G10 handle, looking like it just rolled in from a sun-soaked beach party where surfboards line the sand and a four-part harmony is singing about waves, cars, and California girls. If a pocket knife ever had laid-back summer swagger, this is it.But don’t let the chill exterior fool you—this thing still means business. The 2.99-inch 154CM steel blade is razor-sharp, tough, and ready to cut through anything that dares to kill your good mood. Boxes? Sliced. Rope? No problem. Impromptu snack prep on a beach bonfire night? Handled. The action? Smoother than a classic surf tune. The liner lock is solid, deployment is effortless, and let’s be real—you’ll be flipping this thing open just to admire it.Final Verdict:The Serape Original isn’t just a knife—it’s a statement. Bright, fun, sharp, and effortlessly cool. 9/10—because every guy deserves an EDC that brings summer vibes year-round. Grab one, throw on some shades, and enjoy the ride.

Great Action
If it comes tight and sticky, don't give up on it. When I first got mine I thought I just didn't have the necessary hand strength or coordination for thumb studs. My other knife is a Praxis and it flips open with crazy adrenaline. I was going to return this knife (Kizer Original) because it was so stiff. Instead, I just kept using it and in a few days, it totally broke in. It is so snappy now and opens with an easy flick of the thumb!!! The blade is great for slicing cardboard. The Kizer Original looks elegant and its size is a little on the small size, which I love. Makes for a perfect EDC knife. I hardly know I am carrying it. So be patient if it comes in a little sticky. Mine broke in and I love it now. The button broke in after a day or two and works awesome now too.

inconsistent production
Kudos to Kizer for its marketing ahead of this knife's release. It looked great in the YouTube knife reviews. Credit Kizer, too, for a fantastic, office-carry design. The knife has great proportions. It's perfectly understated. No one at the office is going to raise an eyebrow looking at the folded knife. It could easily pass for a Bluetooth device. I ordered a total of three. In the initial release, I ordered one in black and one in green. The green was the cherry off the production line. Everything smooth, silent, and straight. The black one had a slight noise as it closed, but everything else was fine. A lot of knives have limited runs, so when the black was back in stock, I ordered another. This second black knife was problematic. Significant blade play at the locked position. Some collectors will nitpick blade play at the closing and closed positions. Blade play at the locked position is the more egregious defect. It impacts the use of the knife and can be dangerous. The slight rattling noise as the blade closed, absent in the other examples I purchased, was a bit of a turn-off too. It sounded cheap. The 3 stars is an average. One knife was decent, and the other came off the line and, I imagine, inspected with a loose blade. Unacceptable for any knife costing over $5.The disparity in quality is consistent with a theory that has been on my mind lately. I imagine that in the first production, the machines, whether they are stampers, cutters, molders, drillers, that are set up at the factor are honed fresh. In subsequent productions, these same machines may be worn out and it costs too much for the factory to tune and sharpen them. So you get worn machines producing knives that aren't as crisp and tight as the first batch off the line. I am glad I got in on the first production with the first knife. Very disappointed with the second knife.
