Delta James begins her Savoy series by gently drawing her readers into a world of a rather successful writer of erotic romances struggling with completing another fairly formulaic adventure for her trademark hero.A series of increasingly disturbing threats, which our female main character tries to brush away, but which gain the interest of her local sheriff's officers open up a view into nefarious happenings.Eventually our main travels to book fairs, signing sessions, and reader meetings allowing us to see her real personality and to learn about her relationship with her publisher. When they travel to an event in London we begin to see the more unique features of her world.The character development is artful and not unexpected. Overall this is a great read that kept me glued to my tablet. Very highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a touch of mystery and a large amount of steam with their romances.

Advance by D. James is the first book in this pnr mystery.Sage Matthews is a successful romance writer, living in a Mansion in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. But starnge things happen, she gets threatening letters et al. And then is the other side of the Veil where some beings waiting to free themselves. Bring they danger to Sage too?An intriguing story, unique, told in the third pov that took me a minute to get into it.The story continues in the next instalment.All in all, highly entertaining, well written, unique.

Imagine writing all your requests for the perfect mate down and then waking up to them materializing. This is exactly what happened with Roark and Sage in Delta's new book 'Best Seller'. This was a creative story that had murder, mystery, intrigue, romance, great characters, and lots of action. It was interesting from the first page until the last. I highly recommend this book and look forward to anything else this author has to offer. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A real engaging fantastic book. From the first page I could not put it down.The story is not what your expecting so many twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat turning pages excited to see what happens next.The characters have so much chemistry, so easy to imagine in your head.I would definitely recommend this to all who want to get lost in a great book

This was a great story, about storybook characters come to life. This is the expanded and revised story of an author who meets her hero and other characters from books she has written. The story is well written and such a fun and different take on paranormal! This is the third time I have read this book in its various forms, and I can’t wait to read the next in this new series!

I love the suspense and mystery! I'm not gonna lie I tried to read this a few times (I have ADHD) and eventually didn't an audiobook. But once I got into it and understood the journey I became obsessed! so good! If your like me and have problems getting into deeper plots, it was so worth the few retrys it took me!

I wish my hero’s of the books I read would hop out of the pages like they did for Sage!Excellent book. Thoroughly enjoyed it but already knew the villain of the piece before they were released in the book. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

This is the third incarnation of this story that I’ve read (it was a short story in an anthology, then a longer standalone, and now this expanded series starter) and each version keeps on getting better!Sage (h) is a great character - well-rounded (in shape and personality) with all her quirks and cares and insecurities, who has written her perfect hero in Roark.I’m so glad that there will be more of these, as I want to see more of this couple, as well as the other characters who have ‘escaped’.

Sage Matthews is an erotic romance author who is very successful. When she receives threats on her life, she doesn't take them seriously enough. Then it seems that two of her characters have come to life, and she wonders if she's losing it. I read the second in this series first,but it didn't spoil my enjoyment of this story. A wonderful idea, well-executed.

I absolutely love the premise of the book. An author creating the perfect character who then comes out of the book. Awesome.Interestingly done too. Drawing other characters out before the main one.I have to keep reading to find out what happened to the real people that the characters replaced. So cool.

I didn't like this book. I don't think the characters were believable. Though I bought it as I really liked the sound of the plot. While I know very little about D/s scene I also don't think this book had a good representation of that scene. I definitely won't be buying any more books by this author.

Move over fifty shades ! A great story that sure will make its readers thankful to have an un-smacked ass!! Looking forward to reading the rest of this series as an author myself (emma bruce authir of pink club) I relate to Sage's plights but perhaps not her tellings off! Best not let hubby read this one for fear he may get ideas!!!!
