Great Smart Doorbell
This doorbell camera is fantastic! The picture quality is crystal clear with the 2K resolution, and the night vision works surprisingly well. I love the two-way audio feature—it’s super convenient to talk to visitors without opening the door. Here’s what made the installation and setup easy:1. Hardwiring Tip: Make sure your existing doorbell wiring is compatible. I had to double-check mine, but once I confirmed, it was easy to install.2. Follow the App: The app walks you through the setup step by step, from connecting to Wi-Fi to testing the doorbell.3. Storage Options: I went with the SD card option to avoid cloud subscription fees—it’s great to have both choices. It integrates well with Alexa, and the notifications are instant. Highly recommend this if you want a reliable and affordable smart doorbell!"

1 Year in, Detailed review: LOVE it!
I depend on honest detailed reviews when searching. I’ll try to pay it forward here. Bias alert: I have found the Kasa products easy to use and dependable. I have Kasa smart plugs and light bulbs that I bought previously. Made in Vietnam, not China, was a thing for me.First, know what you need and how the device works. I didn't want to pay a monthly fee for stored video or access, this fits the bill (but cloud storage is available if you wish, I don't use). Know that you need a wired/powered doorbell location, or add a plug-in power supply (what I did, 18V 500mA Doorbell Adapter, 10$). It needs a micro SD memory card to store footage in the doorbell. Device connects to your wireless Wi-Fi network.Review: I have 2, one for each door. I bought one to try out and went about 3 months of flawless performance and got the 2nd. I’m in over a year now on both. This device at this price has met my need and satisfaction perfectly. My Mother-in-law has a Ring bell, I see no meaningful difference except Ring requires minimum annual subscription to access data, a few more notification options, and an initial higher cost.-The VID QUALITY is great, can be set to higher or lower resolution depending on how much you want to stretch card memory for recording. On your Kasa app (have iPhone) you can zoom in and pan the picture both live and on recordings. Night vision is nice as well. You can set to full 24 hour record, or just movement incidents. I use 24 hr. record on my 256 MB SD card (max size). I get about 3 months of video (mid resolution) before it fills and starts over recording in a loop. Movement incidents are highlighted on the timeline, and files of Motion events are date stamped. App has photo capture and export features. Phone alert settings for motion detection are nice, but are according to how your phone settings deliver alerts.-MOTION DETECTION/SENSITIVITY takes a little tweaking to adjust settings to balance your desire to be bugged every second, or only if the world is ending. There is a setting where you can create an “activity zone” frame to focus on movement areas and ignore parts of the picture. You can set and size adjust area very specifically. I have a tree in one picture frame, but off to the side, I set the zone to ignore that area. Really limits false alarms on windy nights. Primary trigger is light sensitivity, bright headlights can be alerted as motion at night. It happens very rarely for my home. It also has a setting trigger to “sound detection”, but I have that disabled, didn’t see the need.-COMMUNICATION Audio through the device has a slight delay, (1/2-1 second, maybe) but sound is acceptable both in and out. Just remember it's not an intercom. I have never had a connection problem and in the last year the only time I've been disconnected were power outages, no way around that. They include an outlet plug-in doorbell sounder with a few choices for unique chime. I set each to different sound and pick a door close wall to determine front or back.I have no complaints, knew what I was buying, the purpose, and limitations. Outstanding for the price. The only drawback I see is if you want high security, the card is in the doorbell. Rip it off that wall, and there goes your evidence, unless you have added the cloud storage service. Depending on your handiness I suppose you could make the Bell more secure. Hope this helps you make a great choice.

Outstanding picture.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Outstanding picture. Easy WiFi setup. Not-so-easy physical setup. They leave the tiniest of room to fit the wires between the doorbell and the mount. You have to get it exactly right. The connection between the doorbell and the base is not the greatest. But I'm very pleased with the picture and the functionality of the app.

Very affordable, reliable, works in Frigate
I had been using a Blink battery-powered doorbell camera that, quite frankly, wasn't very reliable. It struggled to maintain a connection to its sync module and my wifi, despite good signal strength. It also had no good way to be managed in my Frigate NVR so I finally decided to pitch it and try this one.The only downside the Kasa camera has compared to the Blink is that it requires the use of a plug-in chime. But when you realize that this allows it to just use the 24VAC transformer as power without mucking around with batteries, it's clearly the better solution. The picture quality is great and setup was easy with the app.
