OPPOFind X5 5G - Smartphone 256GB, 8GB RAM, Dual Sim, Black

Typically, I've used flagship samsungs (S22 Ultra), Sonys (Xperia 5 IV) or pixels.My most recent pixel was giving me issues with the charging port and I wanted a change. I decided to opt for something more 'modest' in price, but hopefully still achieving a high spec for my money.Summary - This fulfilled my needs perfectly. Punches much higher for its price point, and although it has last years processor (albeit, high-end - worth remembering) you really would never know - and why should you?! Feels great, looks great, screen is superb - and the unboxing experience has nice touches (see below).PROs- Superb premium aesthetics (inc. the camera bump), and it feels great in the hand- Bundled cover is good quality, a great compliment to it, and has a grippy feel (silicone)- Fast and snappy UI- Nice software touches/options (e.g. always on display options, and fingerprint animation options etc)- Great camera quality- Face recognition is excellent, even in low light / accurate & quick fingerprint reader- Bundled 80W charger is wonderful (25%-100% took 25 mins on initial charge!)- Battery could easily last 2 daysCONs- Not having google photos as my default gallery app is a nuisance(...and that's it - genuinely)

I was very sceptical when I bought the oppo find x5 on pre-order because I had no prior experience with the brand, but after almost 6 months of use I can say I really like the phone. I tend to buy flagship models of phones because I love taking photographs and like a good quality camera for when I do not have my DSLR with me. This phone take amazing quality pictures and I cannot fault Oppo on that front. The phone's interface is great and somewhere between Huawei and Samsung I would say but a really great interface. On the downside, the screen picks up fingerprints easily so I find I am contantly cleaning it. In addition, there are a few small features that I am missing from ther phones I had before such as that I can only access my camera from the lock screen, but not my flashlight or calculator. When in my picture gallary, I cannot select to edit a picture through other editing software on my phone directly, I need to open the reloevant software and find the relevant picture again. As I said, very small things that would make a big difference to my use of the phone but I am not regretting my purchase. I would definitely buy this phone again.

Been using a Samsung S9+ since it was released. The step up here was surprisingly huge! The battery is incredible, it charges in no time at all thanks to the 80w, and lasts forever. And a charger with the phone too, beating out other companies here!No SD card reader or headphone jack though which is a shame.The 120hz screen refresh rate is actually noticeable, and really makes the phone feel very fast. The build quality is generally amazing. The ColourOS software pack has taken a little bit to get used to, but isn't horrid.The camera is just incredobly good.Al in all, anyone with an older phone will be blown away by the X5. And with the free Oppo Pad Air promotion at my time if buying (sold for £130), I paid only £400 for this brand new device. No regrets.
