This is a GREAT LITTLE SHREDDER! It doesn't need any shredding oil to operate. Shreds everything into nice and small pieces. I can't say anything bad about this shredder. Everything I've wanted to shred in it, it's shredded no problem. It has a nice long narrow window to show you how much shredded paper is in the shredded bin and how much more room you have left. To sum up, this is an Excellent Shredder and I would buy it again without hesitation.

The media could not be loaded.  My wife and I still haven't changed to paper-less for all credit card and bank statements so we still get all those monthly statements by mail. We have very large file cabinets and we keep most documents for up to 2 years before discarding them. We always shred all sensitive and financial documents such as credit card and bank statements, as well as any utility bills or letters. We already have a micro-cut paper shredder but we decided to give away our old shredder to my brother and upgrade it to this VidaTeco shredder for the following reasons:1) This can shred up to 18 sheets at at time, compared to 12 sheets for my old shredder2) This shredder is significantly quieter than my old shredder, which is a big deal when shredding at night time3) This shredder has very large bin capacity of almost 8 gallons, which means less emptying out the bin.4) It can continue to work for an hour non-stop without over heating!5) Love the pull out bin without having to lift or open the top. It can also shred CD/DVD and credit cards.This is truly a work horse paper shredder that shreds the papers into micro-cut size. I'm not sure what P4 or P5 level means but looks like the higher the "P" level, the smaller the micro-cut is. I would recommend that you always get a micro-cut shredder and not cross-cut but if you can afford, then get the highest "P" level shredder for ultimate security and privacy. You can't go wrong with this VidaTeco paper shredder. Highly recommend it.

The first one I ordered had the front of the shipping box pushed and torn in the front. Upon opening the box, the front part of the bin was broken in, the clear panel part, so you would not be able to use it without the paper shreds coming out of the bin. In addition, the plastic mounting tabs that would have held this part were sheared off. So sent that one back to Amazon, which was a great and smooth process.I then reordered this same unit, as I had done a lot of research on it, so in unpacking this one i noticed the front top edge of the box had been pushed in enough to tear the box. Opened up the unit and did not see any obvious damage so tried it out. Worked for about 5 minutes then it started making this terrible loud grinding noise and stopped working. Looked inside the bin area and found the housing for the shredder to be cracked around one of the housing screws that matched the area the box had been damaged in. So, sending this one back also, will look for something local I can pick up. Disappointing, as this appears to be a well-designed unit.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this paper-shredder because a friend of mine uses them in their office and he said it not only shreds into micro-cut size pieces, but that it is the most heavy duty paper shredder he has ever tried. Well I have to say that I would rate it the same way. If you want a paper shredder that is heavy duty, has a big storage bin for the shreds so you are not dumping all the time, and micro-cuts at a great price, this unit is the one you want. Very durable with lots of great features. I especially like the fact that the bin is lighted from the inside with an over-sized viewing window. The user can easily see if its time to dump the bin.

Small, slow and constantly jamming. I got it in November and it is already nonoperative.I do not recommend this one.

I really wanted to like this unit - it had its fair share of positive reviews, but also had some DOA reviews. Well, unfortunately, I seem to have gotten a DOA unit. Effectively, the "drawer in open" indicator remains ON no matter how the drawer is inserted. I've reached out to customer support via email (seems the only way to do so ... an unfortunate standard these days). I'm happy to reevaluate this review if/when it gets fixed, or I return it. Stay tuned ...19JAN23 - well, their customer support has been REALLY responsive. They have indicated that they will replace the unit. If the replacement arrives and works successfully, I'll change my star rating. Again, stay tuned ...Ok, I got the replacement and (drum roll please) it works! The unit does what’s it’a advertised to do and seems to work well. Kudos to their very proactive customer support!

Machine is really quiet and the cord is long enough to pull it out from under the desk easily.The internal light is a great feature, showing how full it is while operatingThe micro cuts are quite small - improving security over what we've used before and it shreds more quickly than our old one.A couple of small cons: - The bags that came with it are totally the wrong shape but a cheap box of 10gallon trash bag liners are ideal for it.- had a hard time getting the casters in but once in place they are very secure- The shred bin is a tight fit and might have to tap it some to get it in place.This shredded is great! It will be so much better to be able to use the shredder without interrupting phone calls!
