QUITE AN ITEM. Threw it onto the 12vt accessory output of my home generator and it checked within spec with my Fluke 8060 True RMS Digital Meter. It's package is complimentary as well as versatile. Brightness was VERY vivid outside on a clear day. It would be easy to view through a door or window at a distance. I'd imagine you could silicone the back for moisture proofing but the bezel might still be vulnerable. BEWARE of the conductivity of silicone until it's COMPLETELY dry if you go that route. Response time is immediate in my opinion. Using an 'ole FET meter I only picked up 8mA at 12vt which is considerably lower (better) than it's listed rating. I'd probably have to re-check the math but I'm curious if anyone else found out the same. Even that low I'd still put a switch inline on an idle battery of small capacity. Be an interesting test to put across a UPS backup battery and watch for any significant change. Ifs a great addition to my arsenal of goods and much smaller to pack than any meter. One major application might be a direct hookup to a car battery upon startup to check the condition of the battery indicated by the amount of voltage drop. Gets an "A" in my book.

I bought this for install in my tent trailer so monitor battery power when we camp without electrical hookups. I installed it right inside the front door and tapped into the 12V power wire to the porch light switch. I installed a momentary switch from Radio Shack between the power wire and the voltmeter, and then ran the ground from the voltmeter to the trailer frame. It works great, looks awesome, and now allows me to instantly check battery levels without crawling under the front bunk with a portable meter, removing the battery cover, banging my head on the bunk once or twice, and trying to muffle curse words so my kids don't hear me. Excellent product that works great!LATE EDIT :So far it's worked beautifully through several camping trips. Being able to monitor the battery level while staying inside is awesome and tracking how fast my 100w Renogy solar panel (also a HIGHLY recommended Amazon purchase!) recharges the battery through the day is great. I found on a popup trailer forum that many voltmeters such as this have an adjustment dial in the back. This read just a little bit high compared to my handheld unit at the battery. I removed it, adjusted the tiny set screw on the back, and now it's absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this product!

The media could not be loaded. Installed in my rv to better monitor house batteries while charging or running off the inverter. I installed on a 12v Switch to allow it to be turned off while not in use also because other reviews said that the light it outputs is fairly bright. Easy to install if you understand electrical and come up with a plan for where you want it and how to get it there.

When the circuit was activated, the unit read 13.1, when the actual voltage was 12.6 (checked with two digital meters). I discovered they have a pot you can adjust, and did so after I took everything apart. I am not quite sure why you would need to adjust a simple voltage meter. The rest I bench tested before install, there is a variance in the meters. This is not a simple (just mount it) install.Other issueI bought the green panel. The LED is so bright it can be used as a night light, it was illuminating things ten feet away at night. I really wish the light could be adjusted, if it could, I would give this unit a higher rating. The light is so bright, I am trying to find something to cover the displays (like sunglasses) to reduce the glare.OverallIt works. If I can find an acceptable way to reduce the glare, I will like them more. I am concerned in a vibrating environment (my RV), the pot will go out of adjustment in time.

This is a great little voltage monitor and is exactly what I was looking for! I have it installed in my car to monitor the battery voltage continuously. I often run my vehicle on the battery for roadside assistance and want to make sure the voltage doesn’t get too low to where I would be able to start it back up. This also helps to know when it’s time to replace the lead-acid battery (usually about every two years or so).

After hours of tinkering and setting up a place to put it i ran this off my stereos switched power 12v constant and found a nice ground spot and it works like a charm i get my voltage from battery this way and when running ..I love this product and i will buy from this seller again ...This item did not come with directions or extra wire so u will have to go buy some appropriate wire for the install from your local auto parts store. Not a big deal did not cost very much at all.My voltage is 12.3 switched or aux power and when running its 13.3 to 13.6 - 14.0 my altinator is 130 amp high output alt and im running a alpine 300 watt 4 channel and a mono block 1100 watt bass amp on this set upLove the product
