Holy Man

It's a shame Eddie Murphy himself thinks this is the worst movie he made. I personally believe it is charming and heart warming as well as funny. The chemistry between Jeff Goldblum and Eddie Murphy is so fascinating. It's a simple story in a cozy universe where lessons of greed or noble hearts will prevail. I think the world at this time couldn't appreciate a movie that showed truth in society. In hindsight. It was never a bad movie, it was a bad world of people with jaded hearts and greed. Only dark, sexualized, and huge special effects would gain the attention. While this safe pure nugget of work stood alone because society was afraid to look into themselves. Which is basically what the movie is about.

This is the most under-rated Eddie Murphy / Jeff Goldblum movie ever. Every scene is pitch-perfect. This is one of those rare movies that's capable of being entertaining all the way through, and meanwhile sending chills up your spine with the profound underlying message. I personally challenge you to make it all the way through this movie without going outside to look at the grass, or up at the stars. Holy Man will put that shine of awe in your eyes that we all used to have as kids.

Jeff Goldblum and Kelly Preston are magnificent in developing their own characters, and a romantic relationship, as a result of meeting Eddie Murphy's "modern guru," G. The concept of doing the "right" thing rather than focusing on making money is at the center of this film.

Eddie Murphy headlines and Jeff Goldblum and Kelly Preston add context to this story of happenstance, set in Miami, at the home studio of a generic nationwide shopping channel.Murphy is a sage/ miracle man who shows up and changes the values of the management team at the shopping channel.Perhaps the ending is predictable, but Murphy's refreshing portrayal is entertaining, and Goldblum and Preston are credible.

This movie is amazing because it has so much meaning! Especially in our technology driven day and age where we text each other in the same room! I'm equally as guilty. This and "A Thousand Words" are my hands down favorite Eddie Murphy films.

I caught pieces of this movie on tv a couple of times & ordered it. It is a story of a man on a journey of just doing good in the world & making people feel better for even just a little while. It got a PG rating because well, it's Eddie Murphy & he uses the name of a body part in the movie. Other than that it's a clean good hearted enjoyable movie that let's you remember how we should treat one another. Good job Eddie. Just to FYI the word he says is also said by a little boy in Kindergarten Cop. Also the Blu-ray transfer is excellent.

Eddie Murphy is a good actor and comedian that said, I enjoyed the film and would definitely watch it again.

Very weak. If you want a good movie about network TV watch Paddy Chayefsky's Network. If you want a good Eddie Murphy movie watch Coming to America. This movie is incompetent crap.

Eddie Murphy is really impressive as the "alternative" Holy Man. He seems almost believable in this role. I particularly love the way he comes over as an open honest guy, even when he is 'used' for advertising on Jeff Goldblum's TV show. He is just too truthful about the products and when he says they're not all that great, they still sell hundreds. It's all down to his personality!I found the longer I watched the movie, the sadder I became...BUT I also chuckled and was rooting for not only the Holy Man, but also Jeff and his maybe girlfriend. A happy conclusion to an entertaining film. (I gave it 4 stars because I was expecting a few more laughs)

I saw this film when it was televised some years ago and loved it. It is a beautiful story and shows very graphically how simple things can mean so much more than possessions. Can highly recommend.
