We used it on our trip to Brazil. It worked in the hotel in the first Airbnb however, the second Airbnb used a different port so we couldn’t use it there, but it worked great to convert all of our electronics and I even plugged in some extension cords through it and it worked just fine no smoking no nothing

Travel adapter with very handy USB ports
This is a really useful travel adapter, particularly because it has so many different ways to connect through the adapter, including USB ports. We used it every day in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Nice and small travel adapter, but could be more versatile
This is a type-n adapter (Brazil and South Africa) to US plug. I like country specific plugs because they tend to be much smaller than the multi adapter plugs and many hotels have really poor outlets, causing heavier adapters to disconnect. This adapter is small enough and the price was right. The only missing feature is that you cannot plug a 3-pin american plug on the side of the adapter (you can in the front). This made my life difficult on a recent trip where not much space was available at the front of the adapter. Other than that, it works really well. Always keep in mind that it will not step down or up voltages and frequencies -- your charger/device must support the country's voltage and frequency or bad things will happen.

Buy TWO Sets, You Can’t Go Wrong
These adapters worked perfectly while trekking in South America. I have just returned from weeks in the Brazilian countryside where I was confronted with many strange plugs! Often one motel might have different plugs from the next and even luxury residences seemed to possess odd wall plug arrangements. This set of adapters was a godsend. Even my Brazilian traveling companions often borrowed an adapter from my set. Before you go to South America, buy two sets of these adapters! You won’t regret it.
