I’m in page 33 already. Buy It.
This book is great, I personally I’m in the process of liking math, and actually trying to understand it since I’ve discovered how I want to learn, and need to learn so it can be my method for my career. So far this book is good, and it’s a narrative form book so it’s kinda of storytelling, and I love it.

Applies Mathematical Thinking to other applications
Takeoff from Devlin, Introduction to Mathematical Thinking. Appreciate that it applies this inductive reasoning approach in other contexts. Lot of potential here but not fully developed. Book has appearance of a Cliff Notes version of a full text.

There Was More to This Book Than Mathematical Thinking
Although this book was described as a story about mathematical thinking, it was actually about building skills for lifelong learning. The author tackled a wide range of subjects, including the English language, politics, psychology, economics, mental health. There was even a "spiritual quality" in the pages of the book. I enjoyed reading this short, well-written piece. Most importantly, I learned something after reading this book.

More Good Examoles but Needs Editing
Mr Rutherford knows the subjects he writes about. He needs to get a good editor. It will improve readability and presentation.

Anemic, read Oakley's version instead
I'm changing my review. 1.5 but I'll round up to 2 because at least the book is understandable. I've bought books from this author TWICE and have been disappointed both times. The writing itself is fine--you can understand it and what not--, but the contents are awful. Not even worth getting for free. The description of Mathematical Thinking sure promises a lot. Rutherford promises a lot. Neither deliver to the hype. Mathematical Thinking would have you believe that you're about to read about some cool mental tools mathematicians use to drill into all the nooks and crannies of the world. What Mathematical Thinking actually delivers is some short, easy lectures on what amounts to how to problem solve. There are multiple other books that do this better, my favorite being "Stop Guessing" by Nat Greene. You're not coming out of this with the tools for mathematical thinking at all. It barely covers the mindset to develop the skills required. But you know what? I was reading another book and it sounded very familiar to this one: A Mind for Numbers by Barbara Oakley. It was published around 2014 while Rutherford's came out around 2021. So either Rutherford was inspired or if I've got the publication dates wrong, somebody took the idea and did it 1000x better. Now, I am NOT accusing Rutherford or Oakley of plagiarism because that's too far in this case. Nothing has been lifted line-for-line. Instead, what I'm telling you is that anything you read in this book can be found, and in better form and detail, in a Mind for Numbers. Read this one and then read Oakley's, or vice versa and the two are talking about the same thing, except Oakley is better at it. Actually, just go read Oakley's book. Don't waste your money or time. I'm NEVER giving this author another penny ever again.

Nothing in there which will make people loving Math. Gives a self help feel to it. Was expecting a bit more technical,

Full potential of your mathematical mind in a fun, spontaneous and unlimited way. The Pythagorean theorem beyond calculus and geometry, this in every aspect from formulas to what you should choose. By appreciating the connection between risk and probability, we learn to make calculated decisions. Don't let numbers get in the way of thinking symbolically, it offers a way to see ideas changing lives while used to make precise decisions using mathematics. Turning focus off helps to solve problems. How to turn risk into probability in your favor... Manage emotions like a pro. A manual based on rapid impact learning. Thinking is not the same as doing, the underlying utility is not taught in school.

Have only skimmed it as I’m in the middle of another book so will have to wait on a complete review, otherwise no issues with delivery either.
