Guardians of the Galaxy Read-Along Storybook and CD

First of all, this is Guardians of the Galaxy based on a PG-13 movie, so if one doesn't feel the movie is appropriate for their children than the read along book will likely also not be appropriate. That aside, I loved the movie; my elementary aged son enjoyed the movie but we both found the read along a little disappointing (hence the 3 stars rather than 5). Trying to condense the movie into a 16 minute story definitely requires a lot of editing but in my opinion some major story plots were eliminated making the read along less than expected.I'm a HUGE fan of read alongs but was disappointed with the re-telling of this one. We did enjoy the character voices and sound effects and do agree that the age appropriateness on the back of the book (3+ yrs old) should probably be adjusted to match the content.

There is a part in the book that says someone is going to be "pissed off" Not appropriate for young children.

We love these books! They have the audio from the movie. Our boys will sit through the whole book. So fun!

My 5 year old son loves the book and story. I would have given it more than 2 stars if it weren't for the fact that both the cd story and the book contain the word "pissed". Imagine my surprise when we put the cd in to listen to at bedtime the first night. The sentence in question is this:"He's going to be so pissed when he realizes I switched out the orb on him."

This is unacceptable. The back of the book states ages 3 years +. Clearly, it isn't appropriate for children. This book never should have made it to publication.

Would have given it 5* as my son loves it but as a parent I was disappointed that the word ‘pissed’ is actually printed in the ‘read along’ book. It’s one thing dealing with minor bad language in the movie as it can be diluted but it’s quite another when your 8 year old is reading it. Thanks

Despite the story being a little more complex than others, this read-along book does a good job. Real actors in background adds to the quality and experience.

These books are favourites in our house. They are a great alternative to watching TV for my 3 and 5 year olds.

マーベル映画が好きなので、英語学習をかねて試しに買ってみたのですがなかなかよくできています。音声は16:41なので長すぎず短すぎずでちょっとした移動時に聞く場合でもあまり苦にならない長さです。ネイティブスピーカーのお子様向けのストーリーブックなので、英語の速さはナチュラルスピードになっています（ナレーションは Nolan Northさんという方です）。かなり短縮されてはいますが、およその映画のストーリーをコンパクトにまとめて描いています。ブックレットは３０ページありますが、写真もいろいろ載っていてたのしいです。もったいないので持ち歩きはせずテキストをOCRで取り込んで使おうと思っています。映画のサントラ含め、俳優さんの声（ピーター クイル　ガモーラ　グルート　ロケット　ロナン　コラス　ヨンドゥ）も入っているのでマーベル好きの英語学習者におすすめ…（単語は偏りそうですが）
