Hoberman Original Sphere Rainbow

This plastic Hoberman's sphere is an absolute eyecatcher! You'll definately amaze anyone who hasn't seen one before, especially children.The construction also seems to be durable enough, despite its countless links it doesn't seem frail or prone to breaking.Included is a booklet with a few ideas about what to do with the Hoberman's sphere.I would recommend it as a gift for children, although grown-ups will definately appreciate its intricate mechanics. But be aware of the fact that it doesn't really do anything except open and close, and I guess children will grow bored of it quite quickly. Nonetheless, I think it's great fun and don't regret buying it.

This is great fun for children, they love to try and get inside it. You do have to watch it though if you have children with long hair, as it can easily get tangled in the joints. Great that it collapses down to a small size so that it can easily be stored away.

Bought this for my son's 7th birthday after a friend recommended it. I thought there would be more to it. Basically it opens out as illustrated and closes up again - and that's it. The kids (aged 6-10) like it and often play with it by standing inside it and then wearing it over their heads but the fun lasts not much more than 10 minutes or so each time. My husband has tried to get them spotting shapes, etc but they quickly lose interest.It is a good product but at £30 (once you've included p&p) it's not really worth the expense as a toy. Perhaps might be useful in a class or nursery with planned activities but that's not really going to catch on in most homes!Watch out for pets! Kids try to catch the cat in it (NOT good) and when it's left around closed the cat tries to chew it. Dare say same problems would happen with dogs & rabbits, etc.

The Hoberman Sphere is a fantastic invention.What a great toy to play with and with so many different things to do with it.I bought this for my son who is on the autistic spectrum, life can be very difficult for him at times but this toy helps relieves the stress of everyday life as it is such a curious object.He finds this so much fun to play with,and it is a very good talking point for everyone who sees it.What a fabulous idea if you haven't got one get one this is great for all ages.

The hoberman sphere did not meet my expectation as I expected to receive a much larger size going by the picture. Disappointing.

My son got this for his birthday. Now I know there are lots of Chinese copies knocking around; however I looked into it and Hoberman are to the best of my knowledge the original manufacturers so I thought this would be worth a try as it should be better quality. How true that turned out to be, this may cost about £20 but it is massive. The span is crazy, it must be 4ft wide easy. My son can climb in and out of it and he is 12 years old!

Any child any child will be amazed by this! Big enough to even fit a small child standing inside, which they always find hilarious (adult supervision required!). I'd def recommend getting the larger size, well worth it!

Bought specifically to demonstrate conservation of angular momentum, stars rotating faster as they collapse etc and it works really well. So well in fact that I've donated it to the school and now I need to buy another (can I handle or afford the really big one? :-) )Only gripe is the plastic pulley and string which tends to snag up if the kids are too enthusiastic with it - hence a star knocked off. Otherwise it's great.

Trop cool, il marche parfaitement

nachdem ich das Gerät überall immer wieder im TV in Filmen, Trailern usw. sah und es mir kaufen wollte, suchte ich mich fast verrückt, denn es gab es irgendwie nicht. Jeder kannte es, doch keiner wußte, wie es hieß oder wo man es kaufen konnte. Endlich gefunden, zu einem günstigen Preis und es ist faszinierend, wenn man damit Ball und Fangen spielt, wie es sich im Flug aufzieht. Ein tolles Spielgerät.

Die Riesenkugel ist Megaspaß für unsere Jüngste. Sie steckt eine Decke und ein Kissen rein und kuschelt darin mit ihrem Teddy.Benutzt es als Hut und dergleichen Späße.
