FANTASTIC SERIES
My son wanted the entire Foxfire collection so I purchased all twelve books available. He loves these books!! These books are a wealth of information about how to "live off the land" and accomplish many tasks the old fashioned way. Great information for anyone who wants to learn the old techniques for hunting, fishing, building, preserving food, etc. Basically a survivalists handbook. I cannot rate the individual books as I have not read them. My son tells me some of the books do not have as much actual instruction but still he enjoys reading all of them as they are great for the story purposes.

A treasure of information.
Book number 12 is no disappointment. As with the others, this book provides an invaluable peek into the past, when people were self sufficient. While some of the information conflicts with the present "experts", there is no doubt that the old ways work. If they didn't, these people would have starved to death or died of sickness. There was no welfare, WIC, or government program to help if you fell on your face.

Number 12 of Foxfire series completes the set
I love this series of books. They will take you back into time and bring you forward into reality. Each book teaches and allows us to see how things were done when people had to use their imagination and labor to survive. There is a lesson here for all of us.

Holds up to the standards of it's predecessors.
Another great Foxfire book. I'm not sure how they end up publishing each new volume and making each one as interesting as the previous volume, but they do. If you are familiar with Foxfire you will want to add this to your collection. Kudos to those who continue this wonderful series on traditional Appalachian life.
