Spectacular in every Regard! A Real Winner!
I waited a long time before purchasing an LED light for horticulture. I was only moderately interested in the technology before these bar type LED grow lights came out, and they were all just the panel type. Oh, the panel types are nice, and they do indeed have new algorithms to help make the PAR footprint more uniform, but they still don't measure up to these bar style light fixtures in terms of uniform light distribution. I know this, as I have run a panel type and a bar type side by side as an experiment. With the bar style, all plants grew straight up toward the fixture. With the panel type, some of the outer plants curved toward the center, where the light was more intense. No question about it.Also, Vipar Spectra has such a good reputation I felt totally confident in purchasing the light. I have used this light twice now, and it really delivers the quality results for both vegetative and flowering growth phases. And it is energy efficient!Super easy to install and hang and effortless to operate. By far the best light I have ever used. The health of all plants grown under this light is magnificent. The only complaint I have about this light is regarding the dimmer switch. Since LED lighting is so intense, the common practice is to include dimmer switches with the lights, so that one can start out in the seedling stage at 25% intensity, go to 50% after a few weeks, up to 75% later in the vegetative phase, and all the way to 100% at the initiation of flowering. With some other brands and models of LED grow lights a dimmer switch is included which allows the user to raise and lower the intensity in small increments (basically a rotary potentiometer which allows even1% incremental adjustments). That is not the case with this light. The dimmer on this light only moves in 25% increments, so the user can only turn up the intensity in 25 percent stages. This isn't a deal breaker at all, because for one thing, this is an extraordinarily well made and high quality light. However, it still would be a huge improvement to include a rotary dimmer which allows custom settings. This is especially important during the young phases of plant life. With other dimmers you can dial in exactly the amount of intensity, making it less stressful on the plants each time you turn up the intensity. For example, you could start out at 20% instead of 25% for germination/sprouting, and then go up to 25% for the seedling stage. Next, instead of having to go all the way up to 50%, you could turn it up to say 40% after a week and a half, then up to maybe 60 percent, etc. etc. Over the course of a month, you could use the better dimmer to much more gradually adapt the plants to more intense light. With only 25 percent increments, you cannot do this, but the light is still awesome and you just have to be a bit more careful with your distance from the plants and with when you turn it up each time. And by the way, I spoke with a Vipar Spectra rep about this. She told me that they include the more adjustable dimmer in future models! And that's actually another reason to consider Vipar Spectra. Their customer services if off the charts awesome! Truly!A GREAT LIGHT!

Fixed it for Free
I've had my light for 2 years, I woke up one morning and half the light blew out, I contacted the company and they responded with in 24 hours, they had me trouble shoot the light by switching the input cables, After doing so the light that was on is now off and vice vera, so they said it was the driver, they shipped me a driver , I received it in 2 days, and the problem was solved, This company is very honest and very helpful, in the future I will only order my lights from this company !!!

If you’re reading the reviews, I can tell you that you’re about to make an awesome choice.
Highly effective! This light is fantastic. My previous light came with my 3x3 tent (vivosun) which is the folding gimmicky light that has adjustable side panels that completely suck. This light is a solid choice for anyone using a 3x3 tent or a 5x5 (KS5000)Very bright, and I have no burn issues whatsoever.I like that the driver is detachable and can be stored outside of the tent which keeps the temps down. There’s a lot of nice lights out there and I put this light in the elite category.MarsHydro makes a nice light that is very similar, but this light just feels like quality and if you decide on one, you’ll see what I mean.

Great price currently!
Currently 35% off retail? That's a steal! The KS3000 is a beast of a light for the price. I have owned a few other viparspectra lights and they always come packaged beautifully and great quality. I personally didn't second guess it.

5 STAR RATING
Couldnt rate 5 stars cuz app wouldnt let me but if you grow in tent you need this light set up, its the best for a 4x4 I've ever seen...you will not be disappointed in the end result, just watch out for setting too bright, if you use C02 it has the power to work it.

***not so good Update***
I went with vipar because i heard they had good customer support...Just under 2 months and the ks5000 had a pretty massive loss in intensity. Ppfd dropped from 750-950 range to a max of 500 and 250 at the far ends and only 6 inches above canopy. I've spent the last week talking to support and getting only 1 reply a day and we are still in the "try turning it on and off" questions. If the light was 2 yrs old I wouldn't expect much urgency but it's only 2 months old. They are so new that I haven't even purchased extra sets yet to have as back-ups. My ppfd readings on my xs2500's haven't changed just the ks5000. That tells me my meter is reading fine but i was asked if I could find another meter to double check... this is after I had purchased a voltage meter because they wanted to know how much power it was drawing... please guys can someone help me out? I have a lot of time and money invested in this grow so far and I really need to get the lights back on.
