Q: Can these be applied to sheetrock painted walls?

This looks to use adhesive pads which just stick to a surface. I suspect that on painted walls the paint would just tears away from the sheetrock given enough weight.

Q: Has anyone used these in their RV shower? If so, have they held up?

They are great for use in RVs because of the space saving. As long as the walls are smooth, they will all be able to last for a long time. We also provide an adhesive replacement service within 3 months after purchase, so you can buy with confidence.

I am not sure but I believe I got black which is glossy looking. Maybe the other black is a flat black. Sorry I cannot be of more help. I love the caddies though! You will not be disappointed.
