Solidly constructed and has a premium, hefty weight
Works exactly as described. Can be a bit heavy but otherwise it is a premium built product. If you have too much coffee in your basket and they're near the rim of it, coffee can get stuck to the sides of the distributor. A little annoying but easily remedied by brushing the grounds back into the basket or by "flattening" the coffee grounds in the basket first prior to distributing.

It helps get us to the perfect cup of espresso
If you like distribution tools, then this one represents a great value. Nicely made. Easy to adjust, great weight. Fun to use. Along with their spring tamper, these Normcore products represent great value in an ocean of overpriced barista tools.

Solid, heavy spring-loaded palm tamper
Quite a hefty tamper this one. I have another aftermarket tamper from a different brand, but it doesn't tamp as heavy as this. I'm petite and I use my weight to push this tamper down, which I didn't have to do with the other one.Normcore's palm tamper definitely does the job and I appreciate that it tamps perfectly with my Breville 58mm spouted portafilter. No issues at all.

It's what'd you would expect
I work in espresso professionally and got this as a tester for ergonomic purposes. It does its job as a tamper and does level with little dusting from it being 58.5mm. The self leveling does work. However depending on my baskets (using vst now) it will.self level where the lowest part of the puck is handle side and highest.part opposite. Not an issue with the tamp but something to be mindful of. Works perfectly well on my gaggia setup...not so much commercial grade. The spring is adequate but i tend to tamp a bit harder on heavy weather days..Build quality is fine but i would have rather used a regular style tamper. Also palm tampers pretty much need to be self leveling based on the ergonomic nature.

Works great, maybe a touch too small
Works great, still going string after a few months, sturdy, nice design, just a hair too small for my particular portafilter (ordered a bottomless from shades of coffee) so that’s the only reason I’d potentially give a 4 out of 5 stars. And by a hair, I mean a hair. I only notice a bit of grounds on the sides of the basket after distributing but I wouldn’t say it’s a huge issue when brewing, just not the cleanest when paired with the mesh screen and doesn’t effect the brewing.

Does what I need
Easily distributes and levels coffee. Does well with fresh ground coffee, and leveling out espresso basket with center mound. If I have to relevel after tamping, it doesn’t do as well leveling out the far edges, but this is highly infrequent. If I had to buy again, I’d consider getting the newer leveling tool that has 4 sections instead of two. But I’m happy enough to keep this one.

One of my favorite distributors
This distribution tool is easy to use and clean. I like that I can set the height. No coffee grounds get stuck to the sides or get caught in cracks like others distributors that I've owned. Would recommend!
