Anecdotal experience indicates regular use, after a deep cleaning, my reverse gum disease.
I agree with virtually all the other reviews. The VAVA oral irrigator does a really good job. One review talked about the unit pausing during use. I wrote and asked. Here is the manufacturer response: "The device will pause one second after first use of 30 seconds for you to switch to the other arch. It further pauses after another 60 seconds and 30 seconds of use. Then it automatically turns off after this 2 minute cycle is done. You can also turn the unit off manually in between. "I have been using a Waterpik for over a decade, maybe two. Here is some anecdotal back-story. 30 or so years ago, my dentist informed me that I had some pretty severe gum "pockets". 5 to 7 mm was pretty average, especially along my lower molars. However, if memory is correct, I had a couple of pockets at 11 mm. Since then, I have had at least one, but I think actually two, deep cleanings. I use the oral irrigator at least once every day, and often two or sometimes 3 times a day. It took me a few weeks of acclimation, but I now use my irrigator at full pressure (10). I have never been successful at training myself to floss consistently. I find the irrigator to be (for me) more effective at getting stuck food out from between my teeth. Floss would almost always shred and become nearly impossible to get all the tiny threads out. Here is the kicker. During my last oral exam, I asked specifically; my hygienist checked and stated that most of my gums were normal. She did find one or two pockets at approximately 5 mm.I find the magnetic holder, pressure selection, and on/off switch significantly better than the Waterpik design. Time will tell if the device holds up well. My last waterpik died at about the one year mark. The motor simply quit during a session.

Good value, well made, and gets the job done
I did some researching on Oral Irrigators for my wife and decided on this one based upon its price and specifications, such that it had adjustable water pressure levels. My wife loves it. The adjustable water pressure option is great and it works fine for her. She just had a dentist check up appointment yesterday and the dentist mentioned that her check up was good and her teeth were very clean. Overall she is very happy with the product.

Works great - so far, no leaks like the Waterpik
The Waterpik started leaking everywhere after a couple of weeks. So far, this unit has not. It would be nicer if they put a little more traction on the adjustment knob. When you press it to turn the unit on, it rotates and changes the pressure. Otherwise, working really well. None of these are quiet, but it's not ridiculous either. I'd use it *before* a spouse goes to bed, but during the rest of the day, it's fine. If it starts leaking, I will update this postUPDATE: At three months, it's running well and absolutely no leaking.

Petite and pretty, easy to use
I haven't used one of these for years and finally was convinced to try one again. So far, so good, although it took several runs for me to get the hang of not pressing the pick release button when I wanted to turn the wand off. Some have said the pressure isn't as strong as a WaterPik, and some use a lower setting because the high setting is painful. Personally, I set this to the highest setting and it works very well. I seriously doubt the water pressure exceeds 80-90 psi though. The very brief pause after 30 seconds and then after 60 more seconds don't cause any interruptions worth mentioning. This is much easier and just as thorough as my previous flossing with waxed or unwaxed floss. It is noisier than I expected, about half as loud as an electric tire inflator.. The magnetic wand holder works just as I'd expect: very well.If you buy this, be sure and register it in order to get a full 2 year warranty from Vava.

Great, untill it leaked.
I had this for about 90 days before it broke. Before this I absolutist loved it! My son finally would floss his teeth, and that was a challenge. Myself too, I found myself doing it every day as it was just easy and satisfying. However, now when you turn it on, the floss handle leaks water everywhere and there is no force to the water so it doesn't do anything anymore. I am going to try to return it somehow. In short...Water flossing is AWESOME. This product was, until it leaked.

Meets every expectation - a great product !
Product performs exactly as described by manufacturer. The adjustable pressure feature is really appreciated and the integrated pause timer works very well. Materials of construction and the finish of individual parts and pieces are both excellent. Parts storage within the basin cover keeps things tidy and convenient.

Same quality at much lower price
I bought this water flosser because my big brand flosser started leaking at the tank to body connection and I could not find a replacement part for sale on the brand name website. (After ordering the replacement, I called the brand name site to complain about this and they sent me a valve for free, but I had no way of knowing this when I ordered.) I see no obvious difference in function between the two. The VAVA device has a magnetic connector for the handpiece, and a sliding flow control, unlike the less reliable push and hold to stop on the more expensive device. I ended up using 8 of 10 on the pressure setting on both devices. The tank is smaller on the VAVA, but still has water left when I finish. I see no reason to pay more.

It works however not quite as good as the waterpik, ..and 220-240v compatible!
I used it today for the first time. I had been using the Waterpik prior to this and was curious about a different brand. While it works, I feel even on the highest setting, the water force isn't as good as my waterpik and it didn't clean as well between my teeth. Also its quite loud. More than what I expected. Despite all that it does work but not as well as the original thing. Also if anyone is wondering it does work out here in Australia!
