It looks just as expected. I am a little hesitant about how much weight it can really hold as the one I had for years felt sturdier. I do like that it’s much more light weight and easy for me to move myself.2 other issues I noticed was upon opening it some metal shavings fell out around my feet and in the general area. I had to very carefully vacuum the area to avoid any person or dog from stepping on them later.There is also a large dent in the bottom bar on the backside. Shipping box didn’t seem to have any damage. A bit concerned what effect this might do for its ability to hold weight and sturdiness. My health is why needed wider steps and a hand rail and it is also limiting my ability to test it right away.

There are some good points to these ladders - very compact, folds completely flat, sturdy handle, very lightweight. The steps are nice and deep. When folded out it feels & looks very stable.However, on first use, when climbing the steps one of the sides of the steps gave way dangerously, bending outwards (see photo) nearly causing me to fall due to an immediate imbalance. Having looked closely, there is little reinforcement at the sides of the steps to stop this happening. I am surprised it has an EN131 rating and would question whether this is really the case.Immediately sent back to Amazon - I'm off to buy some Little Giant 4 step ladders instead. Buy cheap, pay twice!

I was worried given one of the reviews about the lack of a locking mechanism. Luckily no problem at all! I’m quite heavy and I am confident standing on 4th and 5th step. I bought this to help paint my ceiling and it’s perfect, strap should be used to hold it closed when moving it which is common sense and works well.

I am pleased with this. The wide steps are a bonus. I had trouble raising the hand rail, took a hammer in the end but otherwise this is a good tool. I am using it outside for painting a summer house so it rests on very uneven ground. It remains stable. On my previous steps, the feet used to sink into the mud but these don't!I tie the paint pot to the rail and it is easy to move the whole thing.

High quality product so simple to open and close, no catches or stays to manoeuvre. Very stable and sturdy with good deep treads, ideal for anyone of any age or dexterity to use with confidence. It is so sleek when folded (one side merges into the other like a cassette) that mine is stored against the wall behind the opened utiliy room door and you wouldn't know it's there , no putting it away and using the nearest chair instead. Whoever came up with it deserves a design award. Well worth paying a bit more for this and I don't say that very often if at all.
