Oh my Tattered Stars. My heart ached for this story so much from start to finish. I am blown away again by Cowles ability to wrap you up into a raw emotional story jam packed with suspense, twists and epic emotional passion. Everything that Everly had been through leading up to her coming back to Wolf Gap is intense. Her father ruined so much and tainted more. All Everly wanted was to make amends and create something good from something so horrible. I am so in love with her quick wit and her backbone to stand up to those who want to cut her down. Not gonna lie, Hayes made me so angry at the start of the story. Like DUDE stop it! But as things progressed and his eyes opened, I could see his reasoning but I loved his development as he got closer to Everly. These two together just made sense by the time the story is done.Words cannot express how much this book hits you with the feels. With every raw moment to every twisted one, you will be asking yourself if that just happened to OMG I NEED MORE. The level of complexity that Cowles has given Tattered Stars with the backstory was unique and had me going what the heck a lot too. I am really hoping for a lot with this series and I am seriously looking forward to what is to come. With side characters that I am having high hopes for because I loved them so much within Hayes and Everly’s tale, to what will happen with the running back story. Cowles is a master at creating something so spellbinding that you fall in love with the characters, the world she has created and has you wanting to plant yourself into the town that she has created. Tattered Stars is a brilliant, emotional and intense read that will have you lost for hours!

“Twenty Breaths”Trauma and family took Everly away from Wolf Gap, but also are what being her back. She fears what connects her to the town and the traumas that happened when she was a little girl.Hayes is the town sheriff, and very protective over those he cares for. He has seen his fair share of trauma, personally and professionally. He’s quick to judge and hold grudges but also open hearted enough to see past them and move on.There’s a mystery suspense element that is happening in Wolf Gap. You don’t know if it’s targeting a specific a person or random, but at any moment something can pop up and ruin a beautiful moment.I couldn’t put this book down. I read it cover to cover in one day. I loved the vulnerability of the characters. I was captivated by the strength and perseverance. It’s a small town feel with incredible growth among not just the main couple but others around them as well.I can’t wait for the next book in the Tattered and Torn series. There was an interaction between the two halfway through this that I instantly felt I needed a story from them and so glad it is coming.Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75

Tattered Stars is a wonderful beginning for a brand new series by Catherine Cowles and I have not doubt that what’s to come will be just as astounding .This story bring us to the new town of Wolf Gap with the story of Everly and Hayes.They both are kind souls that carry over their shoulders so much pain and guilt of the past that ties them together.Everly has come back to try to alleviate the burden she’s been carrying, meanwhile Hayes just wants to keep it buried.Their relationship slowly grows from hatred of the memories of a terrible past to slowly evolving into something better that will help soothing those painful memories, however there’s shadows around them waiting to disrupt the peace on their path.This book will pull your heart strings every which way and will take you through one heck of a ride.This book is one you need to pick up as soon as possible.
