The Heir Kingmakers
I love Sophie Larks one of a kind writing. This book is no exception. I really enjoyed both the Brutal Birthright & Underworld series, getting to know all of the parent's stories and then read all about their kids in Kingmakers series has been great! I absolutely LOVED Leo & Anna's story, i really enjoyed all of the side characters as well and i cant wait to read the rest of the books in this series. These books give you ALL of the feelings! I laughed, I cried, I was pist, & then happy! It's as if i was there with them living through all of the drama instead of reading it from the comfort of my couch!🛋📖📚

A rare book that makes you want more!
I really liked this book! Loved the darkness of the mafias and that the girl is not scared of the bad guy or the darkness of that world. Loved the dirty romance part too! Made you vote for the bad guy and the good guy. Good books like that are hard to come by.

Very enjoyable and compelling read!
I absolutely love the world Sophie created. Her settings and characters instantly grip you and reel you in. Her world feels real and surreal, all at once. Apart from a few character inconsistencies to serve the plot, I found the story to be richly crafted - there is a rich, sexy yet freeing tone that is surprisingly passionate and impactful. Definitely recommend!

I want more of Leo & Anna!! Please Sophie!!!
It started with The Rebel. I had to read about Miles Griffin, the son of Aida Gallo and Callum Griffin from Brutal Prince which is one of my first and favourite arranged marriage mafia romance. While reading through Rebel, two people spiked my interest—Leo Gallo and Anna Wilk. They are friends turned lovers and their relationship with each other intrigued me. So I bought The Heir the very next day I finished reading The Rebel. The story of Leo and Anna is somewhat familiar. Two distant cousins-ish; they are related through Miles Griffin. Leo’s father and Miles’s mom are siblings and Anna’s mom and Mile’s father are siblings. They grow together, their fanilies do business together (their families run the entire underground operations in Chicago) and they are the light of each other’s lives! They cannot be separated. There is something more familiar about the way they interact, I couldn’t point it out, but its so natural. But Leo comes off as a little spoiled and Sophie’s writing does imply that slyly! Enter Dean Yenin, Leo’s cousin on his mom’s side and their families hate each other. For a moment I almost felt like Anna should be with Dean, she does deserve better, but then Dean does something so wrong and at the same time Leo realises his mistakes and surrenders to Anna! Yes I literally see it as a surrender. Leo is prideful like a Lion so surrendering to his love felt right.Sophie’s brilliance is that she has created a whole game of Quartum Bellum the yearly championship where Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors of Kingmakers school participate and win. It was kind of bit obvious that Leo is chosen Freshman Captain, but he is the alpha male MC so no complaints! Every time he does something for Anna or even to show his pride (the cafeteria scene) I blushed. Leo and Anna are powerful and cute together!!Anyways, in the end the guy gets the girl! One struggle of winning Anna from Dean is over… the next is real. Leo has to face Mikolaj Wilke, Anna’s father who ~might~ cut his liver to pieces and feed to birds, per Miles! It was so funny see Leo slightly squirm whenever he made eye contact with Miko. Its what guilty pleasure romcoms are made of!! I hope there will be some bonus scenes are even another whole book about Leo and Anna in their Adult life, after graduating from Kingmakers and building their own empires while dealing with Miko. I want more Leo and Miko scenes 😂Again, highly recommend. I finished The Rebel and The Heir in three days. Each were 450+ pages long and I flew through them!! So good.

Brilliant Story & Audible Listen🎧 A Wild & Thrilling Ride!
The HeirKingmakers, Book 1By: Sophie LarkNarrated by: Chloe Ryan, Michael Gallagher, Gregory SalinasSeries: Kingmakers, Book 1I am thrilled that Sophie Lark is not finished with the amazing “Brutal Birthright” world she created, a Mafia world that is this complex and phenomenally built. I loved every book in that series and this series, the “Kingmakers” is a spinoff of that series, their children, the next generation, the Mafia Princes and Princesses who will fill their parent’s shoes when the time is right and become Mafia Kings and Queens. I loved every book in that series and this series, the “Kingmakers” spinoffs from that series with their children, the next generation, the Mafia Princes and Princesses who will fill their parent’s shoes when the time is right and become Mafia Kings and Queens. The series starts off with Leo Gallo and Anna Wilk’s story, Leo is the only son of Yelena Yenina and Sebastian Gallo from “Heavy Crown” and Anna is the oldest daughter of Mikolaj and Nessa Griffen from “Stolen Heir”. No worries if this is your first Sophie Lark book, this book does stand on its own, everything you need to know is detailed in the story. Because of the family dynamics and connections Anna and Leo grew up together and became good friends. The two are graduating high school, despite being accepted into Juilliard Anna rather go to the Kingmakers Academy, a training facility for the underground elite from all over the world, including the Irish and Italian Mafia, Polish Braterstwoa and the Russian Bratva, and where Anna goes so does Leo. These two grew up as cousins, so it felt strange when their feelings morphed beyond friendship, neither one wanted to act on those feelings, afraid to ruin their lifelong friendship. Things start off great for them in their new school, it is a whole new adventure for them, but there are instant rivals and even an enemy to the family, Dean Yenin, Leo’s estranged cousin. Leo’s Mom and her Brother Adrian had a falling out when the families were at war and it cost Leo’s father a lot, because of that and his own reasons he holds a grudge. Dean is cunning and is determined to take everything away from Leo. This is one angsty romantic suspense, it is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, twists and turns, action, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance. Sophie Lark, thank you for another amazing story and a wild and thrilling emotional rollercoaster ride.🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Chloe Ryan, Michael Gallagher and Gregory Salinas were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit for that characters persona, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, grasped every single emotion from their character, had you feeling them as well as the angst, the thrill and the suspense. These mega talented narrators are versatile voice artists and entertaining storytellers. Thank you for this exceptional listen.Thank you @PinkFlamingoProductions The Flock! @AudiobookObsession AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧

WOW. Just WOW!!
What an amazing start to Kingmakers series! Let me say that this whole idea of a secret college for Mafia kids is just brilliant! After reading the same plots over and over again, it can get tiring, but Sophie brought a freshness to the mafia genre. The work she put into building this concept and describing it througly in The Heir shows just how incredible she is and how commmited she is into giving her readers the best reading experience ever. This book is told in 3 povs, and that, for me, was a new concept, becuase we have 3 people, but only 2 are a couple. I found this strategy very interesting, since it allowed us to get a inside scoop into Dean's mind and why he does the thing he does and why he is the way he is, like a preparation for his own book, The Bully (Kingmakers #3).Leo and Anna *swoon* They were best friends since they were toddlers, grew up together, did everything together, so it made total sense for Leo to follow Anna into Kingmakers.Leo started off as arrogant, cocky, always putting himself in the center and everyone else was just orbiting around him, but thorughout the book you can see how much growth he goes through. He finally realizes what really matters are the ones he loves, begins to put others needs and wants before his own, and to never take anything nor anyone for granted. He matures so much! He's so sweet, even more so than his dad. The love he feels for Anna is so pure, so sould deep. I love how he just gets her. They have such a deep, strong conection, that with only a look they can understand each other. I want what they have!!!I just wish he had got more moments between them once they finally got together. I always want more and more hahaha(One thing I wish had been included is Leo and Anna saying to each other, face to face, ‘I love you’. It’s clear they do, through actions and words, and they’ve said it in their inner mologues, but didn’t actuallys said the words to one another, and I love that moment when the MC’s profess their love to each other that way.)Anna is such a bad@ss! She doesn't take crap from anyone, she will stand up for herself and she's always upfront with her feelings. She is every bit her father (Daddy Miko!! Uhh *fans myself*) and I love how she one day will become the heir and rule over the Polish Mafia (yessss, Queen!!).Dean... My heart breaks for him... everything he has been through, the lack of love and support from his family, his mother abandoning him... all his life he grew up hating Leo and the Gallos, thinking Leo's life should have been his... and that hate is only fuelded once they meet at Kingmakers. He wants to take EVERYTHING from Leo.He does some things pretty reprehensible things, and one of them I don't think I'll be able to forgive him... I’m very curious to see how Sophie will reddem him, cause so far it seems dificcult. But, I know Sophie will do it and make me fall for him.And Miles! Oh, Miles… I’m dying to get my hands on his book! I just know he’ll be my favorite H of all time. He already won me over with his funny self, the fact that he’s a dancer! And, of course, because he’s Aida’s son! If he’s anything like his mother, then we’ll be more than entertained ahaha And I'm dying to see the side of him in love! It's gonna make my heart race, my brain explode and everything else burn. hahahaFantastic book, amazing characters, captivating plot and a wordl I want to go live in!5 starsNow go do yourself a favor and go read this book! 😊

Book Review
“Power is not only in what we do, but in what we don’t do..."Okay. OK. OKAY. This is one of the coolest concepts I have ever seen for a series. Hogwarts but for mafia heirs? BRILLIANT. The world-building and character introductions were woven in perfectly; it sets up the rest of the series really nicely without being too much. The romance in this novel is an angsty slow burn and IT WAS HOT. The Heir is an absolute page-turner. Sophie Lark is one heck of a storyteller. Also, I freaking HATED Dean. Everyone says his redemption arc is excellent so I really hope it is!!Read time: 7h 23minsReading sessions: 4
