Easy setup and great smart features!
These bulbs shipper and were delivered quickly. They connect easily into the Philips Hue app, and setup was explained very well. They look exactly like a traditional light bulb, despise having many more features. I especially like how bright they can get, and they have lasted years without any issues. They still work exactly as new.

Great, and Addictive, Lighting
I feel I must warn you, these lights are addictive. These lights work very well and it can be tempting to put them in everything. I have Hue Smart Bulbs in my Living Room, Kitchen, and Family Room. These bulbs work best in places where the light switch might be difficult or inconvenient to reach. They are great for lamps in the corner or large rooms with lights control by multiple switches. I don't recommend them for lights controlled by switches you naturally turn on and off as you walk by; entry lights, bedrooms, laundry room. Because you need to leave the light switch on for the smart bulbs to work you don't wont someone accidentally turning them off. The light quality from the bulbs is fantastic. The dim feature has a very wide and nuanced ranged. The Hue App makes controlling all of the lights very easy. The Hue App has a fantastic feature of directly connecting to your Hue Bridge when you are on the same network. This makes controlling your lights through the app very responsive and easy. The control is near instantaneous. Hue has also made the control software for the lights open to everyone. Don't worry, no one will be able to hack your lights. To add new lights and devices you have to physically press a button on the Hue Bridge. But this means the Hue Bulbs have a ton of interconnection with other smart devices and platforms. I am able to pair my lights with my smart thermostat, smart doorbell, and home security system.

Love our Hue Lighting!
I have been replacing our lighting with Hue lights in phases. I currently have almost all of the lighting on our main level converted over to Hue. I love the convenience of using Alexa to control our lighting, however I had 2 flood lights over our fireplace that were traditional bulbs. After struggling with the hassle of actually having to get up to adjust those lights (like a caveman) I finally purchased these Hue Flood Lights. These fit the cans perfectly. The diameter of the bulb is 4" and worked perfectly with the standard housing we already had. The set up with the Hue app is seamless. Just opened the app, and it automatically found the lights. Literally as easy as changing a light bulb.

Amazing but alas... too dim
I’m a new Hue addict and have really enjoyed getting our house set up and playing with the programming features of these lights. Our setup has been flawless and easy and works perfectly with our Echo (although the Hue app is needed for most of the features with the ambient bulbs). I really loved the idea of the white ambient bulbs for my kitchen but sadly these are just too dim and I’m not happy with even the brightest shade. Despite the title calling these 60 watt eqivelant, they are NOT. They are just below. Is this deceptive description the fault of Amazon or Philips? Not sure. I’m really missing my brighter bulbs and I’m not sure if I can live with these. Unfortunately there is no brighter option available. Also, “50,000 shades of white” sounds intriguing but really you’re just going to find the shade you like and leave it there (I will never use a stark blueish white or an orange white). I will say that I was worried about the BR30 being too small for my recessed cans (not sure if I have 6” or 8”) but they look great, very streamlined. That said, a PAR 38 would produce more light. I’m not sure if I can part with these now that I’ve had a chance to play with them but I’m super bummed that there’s no brighter option. Being able to program my lights (especially when away from home) is something I’ve wanted for a long time and these are so easy and fun. I recommend them 100% if 60w meets your needs although not sure if the ambient feature is really necessary with the white bulbs.

BEST Lights Ever
I have Philips hue A19 bulbs in my bedroom and was thinking of upgrading my living space for the longest time with these bulbs and oh boy, did it make a difference. I finally can control my entire living space with Alexa and set the mood for different event when hosting. There are cheap knock-offs in the market but these bulbs with hue bridge is a no brainer. Invest your money once and have it for lifetime. Don't spend on half price bulbs that you need to buy every year or two.

Worth it with Echo Plus
Update: Seven months of daily use and all of our bulbs are still working perfectly- full range of light with no delays. Original review: Yes, smart bulbs are ridiculously expensive. But if you need adjustable lighting, or you like rotating your lights when you're out, or being able to remotely control your lighting for any other reason that suits your lifestyle, they are worth it. We bought 6 of these lights for a multi-use room with recessed lighting receptacles. Warm lighting for reading, bright for projects and games, soft for movie night, dim for migraines. Gently raise lighting to wake up easier - paired with blackout curtains they're awesome for shift work. All 6 work perfectly and paired with our Echo Plus immediately.

Update the firmware
Make sure you update the firmware on these if you want to control the power on default settings, which can be the last used state, or a set of defaults. I was surprised when I couldn't find those settings, but after updating the firmware those settings appeared.

They throw off a lot of light, and light temperature ranges from a cozy warm light to an energyzing bright cool light. The app makes them easy to control and customize. I have mine set up to be controlled by my Google home, and it works flawlessly! Only wish you could change the color of the light (warm or cool) with the Google home!

These work great with my iPhone, Mac, Apple TV and HomePod. It's great to get into bed and then tell Siri to turn off the lights. Plus I've even made a "getting into bed" siri shortcut that automatically turns off the lights directly above my bed, but leaves two on further away, plus turns on two Hue Gos that I've got set up as lamps! I love it!
