AncestryDNA is interesting and the results were detailed, giving a good overview of my heritage and potential relatives. The testing process itself was simple, and the kit was easy to use. My main issue was the wait — it took much longer than I expected to get the results, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, it’s a useful service, but the slow turnaround left me feeling a little underwhelmed.

Quick delivery and in depth results

I would strongly advise people to think twice before buying this product. My experience has been extremely frustrating and a complete waste of time. Every time we sent off a DNA sample, the test failed. Even after the company confirmed that they had extracted the DNA, the result still came back as unsuccessful. What makes this even more confusing is that they never clearly explained that the issue was due to insufficient DNA, leaving us with no real understanding of what was going wrong. When they offered a free replacement DNA test kit, the problems continued. Despite the fact that we are based in the UK, they repeatedly processed the request as if it were coming from the United States. Each time, the replacement kit was arranged through the US instead of the UK, meaning we had to contact customer support again and again just to correct the mistake. This turned what should have been a straightforward process into a long, drawn-out ordeal. Constantly chasing customer service to fix the same issue is not something customers should have to deal with. Overall, the testing process has been unreliable, the communication unclear, and the logistics poorly handled. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this product to others. Until the company improves the reliability of their testing and fixes their international order handling, it simply isn’t worth the time, effort, or frustration.
