DuralexLys 9 cm Stacking Bowl, Pack of 6, Glass, 4-3/8 oz

When a recipe calls for granular ingredients such as chili, paprika, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, black pepper, etc., these small glass bowls are a must. All the ingredients are clearly visible; nothing has been forgotten. When it is time to blend into the recipe, everything is in its place. I bought three bowls initially then found I needed more. This is especially true when I was doubling a recipe.

I’d seen these on cooking tutorials/shows but was having the hardest time finding this size. Excited to find them AND that they’re made by Duralex - a brand I trust and love.

Would have been perfect for food prep, sauces and small snacks had it been packed properly and not moving inside the box with other items.

Perfect bowls. I’ve used them for decades with zero issues. Coupla comments:First, some reviewers complain that they explode into tiny pieces when they break. That’s what tempered glass does, due to the built-in internal stress that makes them so hard to break in the first place. I did have to throw away one bowl that spontaneously began flaking around the lip, but that was after more than 35 years of hard use. That bowl was originally part of a nested set, and the rest of the set is still going strong. Duralex bowls and other Duralex glassware are used extensively in restaurants around the world, for good reason.Second, you should seriously consider other Duralex products that might fit your needs. The quality, durability, appearance and feel of their Picardie glassware is particularly impressive. Plus, if you break one in 30 years, you will be able to replace it.Duralex products have remained globally popular and unchanged for decades. If they needed any improvement, it would have been made already.I was not comped or compensated for this review, but I should have been.

Absolutely LOVE them, have had some other sizes for probably 50 years. (Not exaggerating here, they were my Mom's and she's 94) Use them for so many things, spices, eggs, sauces, can't beat them. Have bought every size that I can find, use them for everything in the kitchen, great for baking, obviously great for using in the microwave, wash up perfectly, bounced more than one off the floor, haven't had a broken one yet.

I have to admit when these arrived a few days early I was happy - until I picked up the box and heard glass clanking... NEVER a good sign. The packing was horrible... and one of the small bowls had broken free from it's cardboard packaging and was bouncing against all the other open edges of bowls. I am pleased to report that not a single one was broken, chipped or cracked. Now - who knows how long they'd been clanking around against each other.. but these come from outside the United State - so my guess is that it had been loose for some time due the lack luster mail packaging.. That says to me these are some incredibly tough little bowls! They are clear ..eyeballing it they would comfortably hold about 3 tablespoons of something without overflowing the bowl. As tough as these little gems seem to be - I would suggest they do a MUCH better job packing - especially internationally! I am very pleased with these so far - however, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

Great product. Have bought twice.

Ordered the set of 4 - 3 inch bowls - to put my teaspoons/tablespoons of "chopped" herbs, spices, etc. into during my prep work. . Like I see chefs do on television. (Tired of dirtying a saucer for a Tablespoon of spice). And I'm quite sure you could use them for other things.Measured 2.75" across the top. But that's fine. Actually love the size. GLAD I didn't get the smaller size though! These are perfect! They have a little 'ridge' around the outside top lip that allows them to stack easily and not jam into each other and slide around. And I don't feel like they'll break if I "clink" them together. Perfect!NOTE: The photo online shows these looking 'smooth' all the way up the outside of the bowl. MY bowls are smooth about halfway up THEN HAVE THE RIDGE.Crystal clear glass. Not cloudy. No 'bubbles' in the glass. No chips, scratches, cracks, dings or rough edges. Somewhat heavyweight little bowls. Well worth the money. Going to order more of this glassware. Highly recommend!ONLY complaint is, the little 4 pack "open sided" container was wrapped in small bubble wrap, put into an envelope! I am SHOCKED my rough mailman (or any mailman) didn't manage to break them! Terrible packaging! I got lucky.

I have been trying to find some more of these since my local kitchen shop stopped stocking them in this size. They are identical in design to the Arcoroc ones I already had in all but the manufacturer's name embossed on the base, and they stack perfectly with them.I'm perplexed to see some people expressing surprise at how small they are - they are exactly as described - 3" / 76mm in diameter and 2oz / 50ml capacity to the brim.They are smooth on the inside and have a ridge on the exterior at the top to make them stack neatly.A perfect size for individual servings of dips and sauces, as well as their obvious principal use in the kitchen for measuring out small quantities of ingredients for recipe prep.The cardboard sleeve that the manufacturer packs them in was slipped inside a snug fitting bubble wrap bag before being packed in the cardboard shipping envelope, so they were well protected in transit.

Only needed two little bowls to replace an old shattered one. Used for olives, pickles, nuts, dips, snacks.Even used to poach an egg. Very durable and adaptable. Used for a small diet friendly pudding/dessert such as fruit and yoghurt

I'm probably being harsh by giving only three stars.The bowls are exactly what I wanted them to be.Unfortunately some clown in 'packaging' thought it wouldbe a good idea to put glass bowls at the bottom of a boxwithout any protection. The bowls arrived in a big boxwith loads of paper twists on top but nothing below thebowls and two (surprisingly it wasn't more) were broken.Buy them and you will be lucky to get four out of the six.

Bought to replace one of my pampered chef prep bowls. They don't have the spouts but that doesn't seem to matter. Good size to prepare spices and other small volume ingredients. They stack neatly

These little bowls have a variety of uses. I use mine on top of cups to keep my tea warm, also to put nuts or dried fruit for small snacks. They are durable and elegantly simple, a very functional, practical product at a great price.
