WARNING: QUALITY ISSUES w BUCKLES
I purchased the Gearslinger as my EDC for personal items (workout gear, small electronics, several survival items, etc). It worked great for the first 6 months but unfortunately the buckles started snapping off one by one. I was completely shocked by this as the reviews were very favorable on Amazon. The big buckle gave out first and the smaller one that locks over the front of the bag snapped about 3 weeks later.I tried calling Maxpedition's customer service team but apparently they make it very difficult to either have the entire bag replaced or to send in your defective bag and have it repaired. I've considered replacing the buckles myself but the challenge is replicating the same stitching pattern to properly attached the female end of the buckle to the straps. Now I'm stuck with an otherwise awesome bag that doesn't stay locked around my person, which totally defeats the purpose of investing in this type of bag in the first place.

Use it as my gym bag and 😍😍 it
I’m not a dude and I don’t carry concealed. However, my husband is and when I needed a small but functional gym bag that I could fit spin shoes, as well as a large water bottle and a few other essential gym items (ear phones, protein bars, diaper and wipes, extra pants for my potty training 2yr old etc) he suggested I borrow his bag like this one. I am often carrying in my baby and 2 yr old to the gym daycare and needed something I could quickly put on without worrying about it shifting around while I’m rushing in nearly everyday. I liked it so well I ordered my own bag. I love that I can pull it to the front and quickly access my gym ID cards and money. my hydro flask water bottle fits nice and snug and doesn’t fall out when I’m pulling it to the front. Obviously, I don’t really need all the extra straps and webbing but all in all, I use this everyday and am very happy with the purchase.

Amazing pack but hard on one should with a moderate amount of weight
I want to start off by saying I love Maxpedition stuff and own several bags and pouches, a couple of which are coming up on ten years old. I have had zero problems with the product or quality. This bag is awesome, it has a great storage capacity (I keep a 15inch laptop, PC tech repair kit, multitool, and various other accessories and it all fits wonderfully. The big issue here with this pack is that the design doesn't sit the weight on your full back but instead it just sits directly on one spot on your shoulder. There is stabilizing strap that helps a bit but it doesn't fix the issue entirely. Which means (for me at least) i can't wear it for longer than a couple hours without having to take a break. Overall though, still the same great quality I come to expect from Maxpedition and really recommend it to others.

Okay but
I purchased this bag as a every day carry bag. I liked it because of the design and it is easy to flip around when it's on. That was a big selling point plus I already have the Condor II backpack by Maxpedition and I knew the quality was there. My Condor II is rock solid and takes a lot of abuse. My likes and dislikes about the Sitka Gearslinger. One thing I liked about it is the amount of small compartments this bag has. It is great for those small every day carry items. The build quality is also great. The one big dislike I have and the main reason I returned the bag is it is just uncomfortable. I have a accurate postal scale and weighed the bag after I filled it with the stuff I carry from day to day. The bag weighed loaded 8 lbs. 5 oz. After about 15-20 minutes my shoulder was killing me. The purpose for the pack is to be able to carry it on my back but it just didn't work for me.I would highly suggest filling one with around 10lbs and wear it for a while to see how it feels. I wish I could have kept it because I really liked the bag but it was just to uncomfortable for me and I went back to my Condor II

Buy this pack and you will not need to buy another for a very long time.
I have bought at least 15 different packs of the same style that alw fell apart from daily use and I was hesitant to spend so much for this pack but I am so glad I did. Through everything I have put it through using it everyday it has not so much as popped a stitch. I have loaded to max capacity and beyond the normal weight and the thing is literally as good as when I first bought it. I have found a pack for life and I will definitely go straight to Maxpedition if I ever need a different size pack. I don't think that I have to worry about buying one this size ever again.

Amazing!!
I bought this bag for school. I needed something durable because in the last three years of school I've gone through at least six different bags. It is fairly small, but I like it. It fits everything I need. The build quality is amazing!!! The zippers feel really good and strong and it has lots of pockets. I use the MOLLE webbing mostly to clip pens and mechanical pencils to the outside of the bag and make them easy to access. The bag goes on and off easily and feels very secure and comfortable. The material and stitching are top notch, and it's all extremely strong. Overall, a great bag. Its a lot to spend, but it will last me for many many years. Hope this was helpful.UPDATEWell, I've now had this bag for several months. I use it every single day, and I'm not exactly very nice to it. It has seen a lot of abuse and such, but it has stood up to it all incredibly well. I don't use it to carry all my textbooks, it isn't big enough for that, but I use it to carry a lot of my school stuff: iPad, computer, pencils, folders, calc book... Honestly, I haven't washed it once, and I've used it every day and it still looks brand new. Every stitch is still in perfect condition, the zippers are incredibly heavy duty, and the MOLLE webbing is very sturdy and helpful. I know there are some complaints that the single strap messes with your shoulders or something like that, but I carry it around all day every day with about 15-25 pounds and it hasn't had any effect. I guess if you put fifty pounds in it then it would be an issue, but you would have to load it with weights to do that anyway, and most bags will hurt after a while with fifty pounds. I find the single strap very comfortable and convenient. When I'm walking around campus, I can slide it around to the front of my body and pull anything out of it. Overall, still INCREDIBLY pleased with this product. Definitely worth the money.

I love Maxpedition
I am a big fan of Maxpedition. This is a perfect addition to my collection. I know its meant to be a mans bag but I hate changing bags and am using this Sitka as my EDB and also on weekends. The front pockets fit my phone and kindle and the key keeper for my house keys. The Janice bag fits my makeup and my hubby's tablets. The main pocket is for my sun glasses, purse, documents and ipad. The outer pocket against the back fits my scarf and waterproof poncho. Either of the two large pockets fit my laptop. It fits snug and comfortable on my back which is great for walking to the bus stop and on weekend excursions. The only problem with maxpediton bags is that it is tempting to overfill it and gets too heavy. I always check the weight, lol. Definitely recommend this.

General impression is very strong build quality. Evidently a very well made, specified and durable product made for tough use - which suits me well but its certainly not an aesthetic softie if that's what you're looking for. I went for the larger 'Kodiak' version from the same maker in the end, but that's merely a capacity vs compactness issue.

Alltagstauglich!
Hab das Gerät jetzt seit 2 Monaten in Gebrauch. Zum Fahrradfahren, zur Arbeit, kleinere Einkäufe etc.. Fazit: Super!
