Truckery Rhymes (Jon Scieszka's Trucktown)

I love the Trucktown books! Bought several for two little guys (3&5years old) the twist on nursery rhymes is so fun & silly. Keeps them involved.

I got this as a baby gift for my son's teacher. (She is amazing and wonderful and smart and kind and I should probably get back to the review for the book. But really, she is a wonderful teacher and person) This book is great at loving trucks without making a big deal out of what gender you are. the trucks are different genders, and the small ones are not always the girls. The poems roll off your tongue and are usually pretty funny. My son loves this book. Loves, loves this book. He loved it when he was two and he told me that I had to buy it for his teacher because her baby would love it too. Really, this is a great book.

Excellent book! My toddler just loves this book of truckery rhymes. I love how traditional childhood nursery rhymes are rewritten using the vehicles in the series.

Best book I have found for kids in a long time. Its entertaining and has engaging pictures. I have shared with other preschool teachers. Would buy again for a gift.

Very creative mash up for nursery rhymes my boys love it!

My grandsons both know this book by heart!! THEY LOVE these truckery rhymes.....their parents get a bit tired of them sometimes, but they don't even need to turn the pages or have the book open to be able to recite them all....it is a car quiz to start a rhyme and have the kids fill in the rest. Keeps them occupied for long car rides. I think the illustrations are a bit odd, but the boys love it anyway.

I bought this book because my two-year-old little boy loves trucks. So I figured I'd give the book a shot since all the rhymes are truck-themed. The rhymes themselves are based off of traditional nursery rhymes like "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" or "Three Blind Mice" for example. It turns out he loves the book and will gladly let me read it to him from cover to cover. He really enjoys all the different types of trucks in it. It's nice too because I have learned some of the ryhmes from reading it numerous times and can recite them during boring tasks such as hand-washing or diaper-changing to keep him more engaged. I'm very happy with this book.

Such a fun, great book. I bought it a few years ago for my kids when they were younger and they still like it at 6 and almost 8. Can’t go wrong with nursery rhymes and trucks! Just purchased it again for a friend.
