My yogurt maker did not stop automatically. Is it defective?

What i meant was extra jars for backup if one of the 7 jars which come with the yogurt maker breaks.

Do we have to add boiled and warm milk or unboiled milk is sufficient?

does the yogurt maker switch off automatically? (Instruction says you can set auto-timer but doesn't mention how to do that)
