Patriot Memory 32GB Pulse Series USB 2.0 Flash Drive - 5 Pack - Black (PSF32GXPPB5PK)

I bought these drives because I spin off installation media (Windows, Ubuntu, MacOS, etc.) quite often and needed a few more drives with some extra storage for drives, etc.. I also needed some for bulk storage. For the price, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. The drives seem pretty durable and I've had no read/write errors. One thing to keep in mind is that these drives are not very fast at all. If you need speed, you should look elsewhere. I've included a scan of one of the drives here. I'm a Professional, Certified IT tech for 25+ years. I am very sorry to say this: DO NOT BUY THESE FLASH DRIVES.You will regret it. Yes, they are cheap, but they will cause you problems. I know they're USB 2.0, not 3.0, but even though they're cheap, they're simply not worth the headaches. 4 of the 5 either had problems being detected or simply froze while copying fairly small files, or both. I have never had a problem, not a single one, with Sandisk or, especially, PNY. I have been using the same PNY 3.0 64/128 gig USB drives for 7+ years without a single failure, ever.Additionally, and regrettably, I also bought a couple of months ago, a Patriot SSD, and the drive worked erratically. My advice is to stay away from anything labeled Patriot. Their quality control is simply not there. And this cannot be a coincidence. Sorry, Patriot. I gave it one star because it did not allow me to select no stars.

Normally i don't write reviews for products i'm not 100% satisfied with but since i was directly contacted by a Patriot representative i was forced to come here. The only reason i bought this pack of 5 was i needed some quick gift fix for my nephews and this one was a real good deal (4 a piece). The max Write speed for each drive is only 7 MBPS and read speed 20 MBPS (which is ok). Anyone who has used recent usb 2.0 flash drives should know that this is not impressive at all. Compared to this my 32 GB Micro center usb 2.0 drive which i got free through a membership coupon last year has a write speed of 15 and read 23 speed Mbps. If you're looking for a fast drive that can quickly transfer movies and other large files DON'T get this one. A 1 GB file takes around 2 and a half minutes to copy if anyone is curious btw. However if you're only looking to transfer small files like pictures and MP3 music this is the one for you.

I don't know if I got a bad batch or what but I had a horrible experience with these sticks. One of them had to have two partitions to make up the full size which means two memory sticks grafted together. They all tested HORRIBLY. 22MB/s read and THREE MB/s write. Tested on multiple boxes with HD Tune Pro and FlashBench. Several of them would lose partitions after being inserted with windows saying the drive would need to be formatted for use even though it had already been. Garbage.Installing Ubuntu on this drive took over FIVE hours with errors and the system is basically useless due to such low speeds.

These drives are incredibly slow. I was getting 3-8MBps on these. USB 2.0 is supposed to run at up to 60MB/s. I tried copying game files over from one computer to another, and it was actually faster to simply redownload the game on the other machine rather than try to copy it over! There is some serious memory controller debauchery going on here. Barely better than USB 1.1 speeds.

Ordered 5 of the 32G drives.One works. One worked long enough for me to store two extremely important video recordings on it, but now isn't recognized by my computer. One came with data on it (that's scary).And the other two flash red light but don't connect to my computer.So a 20% efficacy doesn't make this worth it at any price for me. And one star works out to one working.

UPDATE 6/27/18- Patriot quickly RMAd the defective memory sticks. That's great, however the three that I RMAd also exhibit the exact same problems the ones I returned do-- the same write errors and locking up windows explorer. Stay away if you like your data to be read. Thanks Patriot for the garbage.bought a five pack of 32gb drives. I think all of them but one failed. They don't read or write, crash windows explorer and show unrecoverable errors when tested. Purchased in February, it's now June, minimal use on these drives. Reaching out to the manufacturer for RMA. I'll purchase something else next time.

I bought four 5 packs 9 months ago to put Thunderbird portable with enigmail on for different users. They get used quite a bit, but not for mass storage transfers. Thunderbird portable is sluggish anyway, but they run pretty decent on these drives (compared to other discount brands).The only downside is that the plastic cover enclosing the PCB tends to come off after a few months. It is an easy fix with a small dab of model glue, but they should have a better adhesive applied at manufacturing.We have not received any bricks and they all continue to work with regular use. Overall I am not totally disappointed.
