This book will keep you at the edge if your seats till.the end. Fast paced and full of mystery and intrigue.

Absolutely one of the best British police procedurals/crime I've read. I've stayed up way too late because I've not been able to put down any of the books in the series. The characters become so incredibly well developed as the books continue and the dark humorous dialogue of Clare that is intertwined in the seriousness is amazing. Rarely do I get excited when a book is 400 pages and sad when I'm almost at the end of it.

I love the characters and the compelling storyline, but I wish the crimes were less gruesome. They’re tough to read. I hope Kett finds an answer to the disappearance of Billie. I’d hate to see that rather dramatic loose end run through the series.

Honestly every time I start an Alex Smith book I have to accept that nothing will get done until I’ve finished it. The writing is so intense that you just follow along on a journey of emotions. Fear, anger, loss and shock at the level that human nature can sink too. I highly recommend reading anything by Alex Smith but be warned don’t expect to achieve anything else because it’s so easy to get lost in the pages of this brilliant crime thriller.

A great read. I thought it was very well written and Kett was always at the fore front of what is happening. I won’t say. I just like to say Alex Smith the two I’ve read have been marvellous. Highly recommend.
