It’s a wonderful quality pad, but it runs small. I have an 18in bates. It was WAY to small. I would not use for anything over 16.5in. I’m giving 4 stars because it is stellar quality, but the size is off.

I have this under an Aussie stock saddle that is modified for horse archery use. I primarily ride a rented Icelandic, but having this pad gives me the flexibility to transfer my saddle to other horses when I need to. After several months of use it is still in excellent condition. A good product.

I love this saddle pad - my horse is muscling up a little bit more along his top line so I needed something less padded than my Ovation pad with memory foam and a cotton pad. This is perfect, has a nice curved shape along the spine so it doesn't fit tightly right along his withers. Also, I don't have to mess with several pads, straps, and Velcro - I can just whip this on and I'm tacked up in seconds. Love it - about to order a few more so I can have one in the wash every few weeks. And one last thing - it's nicely sized, so that when I go between my AP and my jump saddle, the pad is not too small for the AP, there is an ice few inches all the way around for good coverage.

The memory foam is poor quality. Its basically sheets of cheap Styrofoam. Would like to see this product with better quality mem foam inserts

Older horse with high whithers and sway back this saddle pad was much needed!

How I wish this saddle pad worked for my saddle! It is nice quality and I love the color. It is peaked enough for high withers. The two pockets on each side can be easily converted into one if that's what you need. However, the distance between openings for the shims is about 5 inch. That's where edges of saddle panels will land in my case. Since the pad itself is fairly thin, the saddle will press through the rolled edges of the shim pockets, and/or the top edges of the shims - and I know that my sensitive horse will not stand for that.

Affordable, durable and was able to modify with shims to make saddle to fit my horse.

Love just about everything about this pad, other than the inserts. Those are easily replaced with cutouts from something like a yoga mat. Works great for my high-ish withered, curvy-backed horse and her saddle-fitting.... issues. These are apparently manufactured in the same factory as the Mattes, and are... less than half the price? Can't beat that!
