Alternate Optional Worksharp Blade Grinder Belts
I work on and make knives, and I particularly appreciate the Excellent abrasive selection and grit spread with this belt set, they fit just as they should, work very well and seem to (so far at least) last very well with what I am doing.I particularly appreciate the availability of these lesser expensive belts, and the possibility of ordering other, custom belts of whatever grit surface I might want to work with.

Ken Onion Worksharp Replacement Abrasives
I bought these to use with my Ken Onion Worksharp knife grinder attachment. They are considerably cheaper than the ones sold by Worksharp and work as well and perhaps better. A good selection of grits are provided that will allow everything from reshaping to final edge refinement. Used in progression you'll get a razor-sharp edge that's virtually mirror polished.I do plan to get the leather honing belt that Worksharp sells, but I'm a nut anyhow.

Abrasive belts
I wore the 120 grit belt completely smooth trying to sharpen one 5" kitchen paring knife. This wear was excessive for a knife that wasn't too dull. I was able to sharpen a dozen or more knives using Ken Onion belts for this knife sharpener. I believe the "replacement" belts are not as sturdy or the grit is not glued on as well as it should be. I have not used any other belts yet, so it may just be an issue with coarse grit belts.

Buy the originals
The 2 grits that are blue came apart first use each time. Abrasive came loose from the backing as soon as you touch the blade to it. Buy the originals.

Good Value Replacement Belts for WorkSharp Blade Grinding Attachment
As an abrasive belt, these are fine. Individually, they don't last quite as long as the Norton belts (the ones that normally ship with the WorkSharp Blade Grinding attachments), but you get far more belts (and with more grit variety) than the standard WorkSharp belt kit.I had a couple of issues with construction on some of the belts though. A few (4 out of 24 belts, all on different grits) were a bit wider than 1", so they did not fit Blade Grinding attachment correctly. I suppose they could be trimmed a bit, but I haven't tried yet. Also, the seams are cut perpendicular to the length of the belt (vs. at an angle). This resulted in a more noticeable "bump" in the belt when sharpening, and the accumulation of steel right at the seam appears to confirm that. I sharpen using pretty light pressure, and I haven't noticed any detrimental affects to the edge itself from this (although the grit right around the seam will wear down very quickly).Despite the issues, I still think these offer good value as replacement belts for the WorkSharp Blade Grinding attachment.

You need these
These Last longer. Fit perfectly if you understand what you are ordering (belts for Ken Onion version - attachment only). In my limited testing (one hatchet, one A1 Falkniven knife and one BK KA-BAR knife), they are much better than the OEM belts. They sharpen quicker, shed much less grit and last much much longer.
