Fresh and stretchy tent poles
Fresh and stretchie. I replaced my stretched out tent pole elastics. Helps to have a straight wire to extricate the old bungee from inside, but ask me in 10 years if this binge has held. Original tent bungee was 38 years old. That’s crazy. Don’t buy new tents. Recycle, re-use. This cord made it easy to do. Label your poles with numbers and it was a cinch.

Buy 2 for one small tent
Great, you need 2 of them for one backpacking tent. Luckily I bought 2. It's similar to the original, not exactly but it definitely works, it's thin enough for a tent and strong enough. I'll definitely buy it if I need to fix a backpacking tent again

Gets the job done.
I used this shock cord to replace the cord in 2 Big Agnes tents. The cord in both tents wore out in about a year so while the Big Agnes replacement cord was about the same price, I thought I should try something else. This cord seemed to do the trick. Good balance of strength versus elasticity. I would have given it 5 stars but the value could be a bit better for what it is. It’s also such a waste that they include a useless plastic spool in the package and don’t even wrap the cord on it correctly when they package it. A slight annoyance but otherwise, I good with the purchase. Took about an hour to re-string 2 tents. Check out YouTube if you need some tips. There’s a few good videos for this.

Repaired Tent Pole!
I used this cord to replace the cord that snapped inside of a very long tent pole. I own a Coleman Vela Tent that is in very good shape, so getting a whole new tent would have been such a waste of money. One of the two main tent poles had the cord snap, and I needed a long enough cord to replace a tent pole that was about 22 feet in length. I first looked on the Coleman website for an exact replacement kit for this particular tent, only to find that they discontinued the kits. But, they still showed the descriptions of the kits, which informed me how much shock cord I needed: 16 feet. This kit is 18 feet, so it worked very well for my application. Other kits, like the ones you can buy in stores only are, at the most, 10 feet. I started by tying off one end with a few loop knots and stringed it through the first pole. I was able to string the 18 feet of cord through the poles until about the last three sections, where I pulled on it to get as much length as I needed to finish the last three sections, then I had to put my foot on the cord to keep it snapping back into the poles. Once done with the last three sections, I tied it off at the end, making a few loop knots on top of each other. I was able to string it without the need for one of the wires included in other kits. Of course, you should use washers at each end as I did, and thankfully I had some leftover from a different tent pole repair kit I bought for a different tent. If you still have your original washers, you can use those. The shock cord looks almost identical to the original, in respects to size and strength. Overall, it got the job done for me and saved me from having to purchase a new tent.

Budget Friendly Tent Fix
My tent (7 year old REI Half Dome II) went from easy to set up to a gigantic pain once the bungees wore out. I was at the point of considering a new tent, but this worked great. It was relatively easy to re-string the tent poles, and there are plenty of tutorials online if you want some extra help. A few bucks and a little time to re-string it, and setting up my tent for a camping trip last weekend as back to being a breeze. I had just enough to restring all the poles, and I probably used a little too much on the first few. Using 3/4 of the length of the pole or even slightly less is fine and leaves a little spring in the cord.

Excellent replacement
This shock cord was way better than what was originally in my tent stakes. Definitely ordering another one to have on hand for when the other one finally breaks.

Fix a broken tent pole
I was able to easily fix a long, broken tent pole with this cord. Knotted the end of the cord and then hooked the cord around a long piece of wire; fed the wire through six poles, one at a time. Tied off the end and it works perfectly. Went camping once since, and the pole held just fine.
