Good looking unit. Had to buy extra PCIe/USB 3.0 cards to use with my MB.
Nice unit. Aluminum body feels/looks good. I bought two additional PCIe/USB 3.0 cards Mailiya PCI-E to USB 3.0 2-Port PCI Express Card,Mini PCI-E USB 3.0 Hub Controller Adapter with 15-Pin Power Connector and 1 USB 3.0 20-Pin Connector - Expand Another Two USB 3.0 Ports for the additional USB headers (unit has two USB 3.0 header cables, my motherboard had only one socket which I used for the ports on the front panel of the case). I now have more USB 3.0 ports than you can shake a stick at.I tried all ports and card sockets and each worked flawlessly. Quite happy with its appearance and function thus far. The Orange USB socket appears to be only for high current USB charging only as it doesn't pass data.

Better then Rosewill
Just got this today but have spent a couple hours testing it out. This looks just like the Rosewill model but includes an extra 3.0 usb port and I presume runs the card reader off the other. The Rosewill has the ugly logo on the front and runs the card reader off usb 2.0 yet has like 1000 reviews. This is built solid with the brushed aluminum front, the cables are all nice and thick and there are no driver problems or conflicts with lots of things plugged in. Even plugged in a portable usb 3.0 hub and had 3 more ports and cards going without any issue. The only bad thing is when using the 20 pin to usb adapter (I only have one 20 pin available) and plugging in my phone, it continually disconnects and reconnects. I swapped the adapter and sure enough the problem moved to the other port. This is actually a good thing because that means the adapter is the problem and not the box. Other usb drives seem to work fine with the adapter so I'm not sure what the problem is but it loses one star because of this.I am going to get a dual 20 pin pci card so I can hook this up along with the front ports on the my case and I should be good on usb 3.0 ports for awhile. I have been searching for this type of pci card and I can only find one on ebay from china... all the others just have one 20 pin and 2 or more usb ports on the back. If anyone knows of one that doesn't take 2 weeks to ship please let me know.

Great choice for a front-panel USB port expander and memory card reader. Passes through native ports, not a hub!
So this appears to be the only front-panel 5 1/4" USB + memory card reader on the market that actually has a reasonable number of USB 3 ports (total of 3) *and* actually passes through your motherboard's USB headers rather than using a single USB port from the back and creating a hub like many others do. The memory card reader takes the place of the 4th USB 3.0 port, I believe.(Note that I'm aware that the product description says "hub", but when plugged into a computer, Windows does not see a "hub" device plugged in, and any devices plugged in show as being plugged into a native port. This is a good thing, meaning that each port gets the full USB 2.0 or 3.0 bandwidth straight from your motherboard and chipset)This could perhaps be better if they had 4 USB 2.0 ports instead of just 2. My motherboard provides headers for 4 ports. Luckily for me, my case has 2 front-panel USB 2.0, 2+2=4, but could be a drawback for others who want the extra ports.Other nice things: the metal finish, the charging port (orange), good if you want to fast-charge your phone or charge a tablet.Other comments:This one looks very similar to the Rosewill RDCR-11004, but there are differences in what the USB ports are assigned to on the Rosewill. The Rosewill provides the additional 2 USB 2.0 ports but from looking at the cabling that it comes with, it would appear that the Rosewill has an internal USB hub (if you care about raw bandwidth)... and who uses eSATA? I'm leaving that one unplugged!

Works like a charm
Works like a charm. Charge port is very convenient - charges my Droid Turbo almost as fast as the turbo charger.

Finally! USB 3.0 for my photos transfers!
Greatly increased the speed of my photo transfers! I couldn't find a true USB 3.0 card reader for transferring my raw photos after a shoot to my hdd. I often have 3000+ images to transfer after a long day of shooting and was not getting the full benefit from my fast CF and SD cards. This card reader has my CF card transferring RAW images to my HDD at 70MB/s +. I love it. It is easy to install, but only if you know what the USB headers on your motherboard look like. I don't think this should be self installed by just anyone.
