I assembled the bow. High marks for looks and how it feels. It's an elegant piece of equipment. Then I drew it. The riser delaminated on the very first draw. The arrow, fortunately, missed me. The now-flying top half of the riser and the top limb did not. I just got hit in the face by this product after drawing it one time.Pictures to show you how bad the damage is.Update: The company's service was excellent. They were responsive and understanding. I have chosen to execute the warranty on the bow rather than simply ask for a refund and give them a chance to prove I happened to just get the bad riser out of the bunch. I will see how the replacement fares and its quality, then revisit this review. Regardless of that, the company certainly does a great job of reaching out to customers.Update: So with the new riser, the bow seems like a higher quality takedown than the price might suggest. This doesn't change the fact that the first riser almost knocked some teeth out. Good customer service and it seems like I got a lemon in the first package. +1 star, but still, the first one still actually hurt me.

After reading the one review, I was a little worried about the bow breaking on me too. I have been using the bow every day for about a week now and so far, I am very impressed. Not only is it gorgeous, but everything fits together great and feels sturdy. I hope this bow lasts me many, many years. I’m considering getting smaller versions for my sons as they will soon be out growing their current bows.

Love it, so far. Shooting almost every day. I have a 20 lb Spyder as well, and to my surprise found that I can shoot more accurately and consistently with the 45 lb ghost at 30 yards than with the 20 pound Spyder. As I am still getting used to the higher draw weight, I like shooting with both of them together — four shafts with the Spyder then four with the Ghost, then take a break and retrieve the arrows. Very nice. I was surprised that the design of the riser for the Ghost seems identical to the Spyder, only different in color. I would have liked to know that before I ordered it. However, since I like shooting them both at the same time, I am happy with the purchase.

The Samick Sage and its descendants, many of which are made by Southwest, have a reputation as well-built bows, solid and comfortable to shoot. I find I much prefer shooting a longbow to a recurve so I jumped on this takedown longbow. The Ghost is a great design. The limbs fit very securely in their pockets. It strings up easily. In shooting the bow, it feels like it's one piece. It points naturally, it's quiet, and it makes me look like a much better archer than I am. I hope to pick up a lighter set of limbs for stump and casual shooting. They'll get a workout.

My bow arrived 3 days earlier than expected.Everything was clearly labeled for assembly. Fit snuggly , and shoots great.The riser is very comfortable, and I am excited to add more accessories or swap the limbs to recurve later on.The bow is also gorgeous , much better looking than the product images. The gold stripe in the center matches the outside edges of the limbs, with the rest of the bow being a nice matte black.The thumb screw limb bolts are also a great option if you need to take down the bow to store it frequently. The limbs feel very secure with them , without having to over tighten.Lastly the bow is considerably quieter than recurve of a similar design such as the samick sage.

This takedown Bow is the best. A South West masterpiece. Look and feel are sleek and smooth. Easy to assemble and to take down. I had to make a last minute change of pull poundage and Archery R Us accommodated me. It was received days before I expected it. Kiddos to them. Definitely a great company to deal with.

Unfortunately I was sent the wrong handed riser. Overall finish of product appears to be nice. Fit, form, and function has not been tested yet. I will update when I get the correct handed riser.Update**I Received the correct riser. After putting it together and firing some arrows, the bow is remarkable. Very smooth draw, great quality limbs and riser. Very pleased with purchase. The Customer service is top tier.

I got this bow because I wanted to try out a longbow for the first time. I have always been a recurve shooting and my main bow is a much more expensive bear grizzly. After shooting this bow it has become my favorite bow to shoot...it is fast, quiet, and comfortable to shoot. I'll be hunting with it this year instead of the bear recurve! Buy it...you won't regret it!
