Extraordinary book
This is what poetry should be. Someone who cares about the craft of poetry and things like assonance and alliteration and similes and the language as well as a clear narrative and about a very important subject matter. I highly recommend this book

A poetic narrative that has me looking for more of her work.
In Stonelight, Sarah McCartt-Jackson weaves together a poetic story entrenched with the life, language, and folklore of the Kentucky landscape. Each poem is a window into the life, strife, and tragedy of a family in the midst of the eastern Kentucky coal mines. It's poetry, short story, history, and folklore intertwined into one. I picked it up at The Kentucky Book Fair not knowing what to expect and will be looking for more of her work to read next.
