Recorded in the winter of 1994, just a few months after the release of Purple, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS are at the height of both their popularity and ability, prior to the issues that would later prove so destructive. Clean and Dirty is a unique document in the group s history: an acoustic set plus an electric set that perfectly illustrates the classic song-writing and tight musicianship that earned such widespread acclaim. From the curious opening in which Scott Weiland is shouted at by an abusive Courtney Love, this concert is the essential live record of Stone Temple Pilots at their very best.

Strong acoustic and electric STP live album
Since Core was first released in 1992 I was immediately drawn to STP, and up until the band called it quits for the first time in 1996 I was a huge fan. Coming back to this material in a live setting is really rewarding - the acoustic first half is pretty strong, but it's when Meatplow kicks in that I'm taken back to what really drew me to the band, and the recording has the required crunch to bring it across. Although it doesn't contain a version of my personal favourite track 'Big Empty' (which with it's slide guitar parts would have lent itself nicely to an acoustic version), this is a pretty awesome live collection.
