Each one of these stories is a different bite of zombie hunger...
Undead Tales: 15 Thrilling Zombie Stories (A Night of the Writing Dead Anthology) by J. Thorn, Zach Bohannon. Our Intrepid apocalyptic storytellers, Thorn and Bohannon, have collected 15 authors, put them in a box and refused to let them out until they each wrote a zombie story. The result is this collection of tales of zombie lore, in honor of the 50th anniversary of George Romero's classic “Night of the Living Dead.”These short stories are quick and fun to read. Each one has a different perspective on getting by with zombies, and the annoying problems they cause. Let’s take a look at each one in turn.Redemption (Robbins) - The police department has a new job, saving citizens from zombies. Everyone deserves a second chance, try not to get caught in a building full of zombies. The Relic (Spears) - Walking Into the Heart of Darkness has its dangers. If you can’t trust a contingent of mercenaries and their corporate overlord, who can you trust? The Pursuer (Piperbrook) - The zombie apocalypse can be a lonely existence. But don’t be so quick to suspect the worst in your fellow survivors. Someone might surprise you.Selection Day (Beckett) - You meet some nasty folks in the zombie apocalypse. They want to be the boss of you. They’ll be surprised to find out that you make your own rules. The Harvest (Carroll) - Neighbors have to fight for each other, especially in the zombie apocalypse. Assistance may come from where you least expect it.Zombie Prometheus (Wills) - A mad scientist keeps telling himself he's working for the greater good, but we're not so sure about that. And chainsaws are the perfect zombie killing machine. The Boy and the Island (Bohannon and Thorn) - Robinson Crusoe with zombies, if Robinson Crusoe happened to be 14-year-old boy stuck on a vacation island in the Gulf of Mexico. The Journey (Michaels) - A jaunt with friends through Zombieland. It’s just like Monday, one frustration after another.Ashes (Gates) - There’s always a reason to carry on, even in the zombie apocalypse. And sometimes those reasons come from unexpected places.Delirium (Willcocks and Kondor) - How long can one hide from the outside world? The apocalypse never ends, but when does it end for you?Passenger (Verish) - How does everyone react at the start of the apocalypse when no one is sure what’s happening? A different look at the zombie apocalypse, from the zombie's perspective.A Calm and Quiet Place (Wisniewski) - A refreshing view of students on a college campus not waiting to be zombie chow, talking the fight to the enemy. And the students happen to be members of a girl’s sorority. To Mamaw’s House We Go (Watts) - Zombies in the woods of Kentucky can pose additional problems.Outbreak, Take 2 (Drake) - Westworld meets the zombie outbreak. But you can even find romance in the face of unexpected annihilation. No Connection (Richards) - A zombies invasion of marching band practice at a high school complicates unending student drama. Each one of these stories is a different bite of zombie hunger and the citizens who want to get back to their ordinary lives. Of course, we know that’s never going to happen. Each story is descriptive enough to place you in their world and try to figure out what you would do — highly recommended.

so much fun
I gobbled this up over two nights. 15 delicious stories that offered a nice variety of zombie goodness with endings I didn't always see coming. (even the ones that I did see were still satisfying) I'm moving on to novels by many of the authors in this anthology. Make sure you read the intro to find out how the book came to be.
