Staedtler Mars Drafting Mechanical Pencils 3 pk, 0.3, 0.5, & 0.7mm widths, 925WP3

I started portrait drawing back in Feb of 2014 for the first time and tried a variety of pencils....from regular drawing pencils, "disposable" mechanical pencils and to even a few higher end drafting/mechanical pencils and these are the best.They are very durable pencils for one. The lead feeds well every time you click and it doesn't slide out as you click either. They have a nice rubber grip on them that is comfortable for long hours of drawing. And a fairly decent sized eraser in them, although I usually use a Staedtler kneaded eraser on my projects. And of course, they come in 3 different precision sizes that help me get the finest of details in my work.One of my favorite features is that they have a different colored band for each size for easy selection and that they each have a dial on them that you can turn to select the lead type/hardness that you are using in it. This works especially well for me as I now own 3 sets of them and need to be sure which leads are in which pencils.And the price? You can't beat the price for a set of three considering many places I've looked locally charge $10+ PER pencil! Just can't beat the quality and at a price well worth it!

I bought this set of pencils because I was looking for a good set of mechanical pencils for sketching. I haven't been drawing or sketching seriously in several years and have been trying to get back into it. I am currently using a small sketchbook and prior to these pencils I was using a normal, non mechanical pencil that was quite hard (4H). I found that dealing with sharpening the pencils while out and about is a bit of a hassle, so I wanted to get a set of mechanical pencils. This set was well reviewed so I decided to give them a shot.I've been using these for about a week and I am quite happy with them so far. They have a good, solid, comfortable feel compared to inexpensive mechanical pencils. The The included HB lead seems to be good quality, and the clicking mechanic is nice and smooth.I can't speak to durability as I have only had them a short time, but they don't seem flimsy. The weight is good.I feel they are a little over priced (they are just pencils), but they might just be worth it as long as the hold up.

These pencils are great for sketching and work just as well as I expected. The .3 pencil, however, was a tad broken when I received it. It's still usable, but pushing the lead out is difficult and it will slide back in a bit when put to paper. I have to pump the lead out farther than the length I want and touch it to paper to push it back in to a shorter length, but this is a minor issue. The erasers were used up very quickly, but I believe the company sells replacements. I have a separate eraser pin and two eraser sticks, so this isn't a huge issue for me, but the erasers were nice while I had them.

I absolutely love Staedtler Mechanical pencils for their high quality durability and performance. These are certainly better than any other mechanical pencil I have used due to there writing ability, high quality lead, look, feel, and uniqueness. I have been using them for awhile for my sketches and they write very smoothly with just about any paper. The mechanical pencils are comfortable and easy to hold while still looking professional. If you buy these mechanical pencils I would recommend buying more lead and Staedtler's Mars Latex Free Erasers since they work really well together.

The only complaint I could make about this set of Staedtler pencils is that since they all look alike, you really have to look close to check the number on the side of the pencil to tell which size it is so you don't put the wrong size lead in them. The last digit is the tenth of a millimeter, so these pencils would have been better if each had a different color, or like the metal pencils, have the lead size on the top of the cap in large numbers. Still, everything considered, a nice set of pencils.

As a Civil Engineer, I spend a lot of time preparing calculations and doing hand sketches. I've always used a Staedtler 0.5mm that I've had for years but I've always wanted to use a 0.3mm. I'm extremely pleased with this pack and has given me a nice range of thicknesses for writing and drafting.I will agree with some of the other reviews that these feel slightly "cheaper" then my older Staedtler pencil. Looks like they shifted the manufacturing location since I last bought one. That being said, I have no complaints and have had no issues. Would definitely recommend.

These pens were as expected for the price. The Staedtler letters in silver makes it look a little cheap, but hey, they are! They work like a charm though, I use the 0.5 and 0.7 version every day. Have had som incidents with the 0.5-version where the lead is breaking in the pen, maybe the tip is bent? Anyways, hasn't been a big problem. Will buy them again if I need to.

The construction of these is beautiful. I love holding these even when I'm not using them! Comes in a great variety of common sizes that any artist or drafter will need. I also separately purchased the .9mm to match these. I only wish they all came together in one pack.If heaven forbid these ever get lost... I will definitely buy these again! Took years to find a mech pencil that I loved using, but this is it.

bic feels better...don't really like them, the led keep twisting inside so only one write on one side, annoying.
