Worth paying for Dewalt quality. I bought a cheap imported version and it sheared off. Should have bought Dewalt first.

I've bought these 1/4 inch hex skank to 1/2 inch socket adapter to be used with my DeWALT DCF885 impact driver. I'm currently using the driver at work where I have to fasten a lot of millimetric bolts. The sizes I mostly fasten range from 13 to 17 millimeters. The material: This adapter is made of an impact resistant steel, coated with a black smooth non-reflective material. The steel is of a great quality, because I've been using it for at least 6 months and it didn't shatter, didn't show markings, scratches and is really corrosion resistant. The design: This adapter has a simple yet effective design. It fits perfectly to my impact driver and is really easy to attach to many different sockets. The adapter has a ball-and-spring locking mechanism which found itself really sturdy for many applications. The way I work, I have to keep on switching between sockets all day long and after 6 months of continuous use the mechanism still works as new. Overall: It's worth a 5 star overall rating. It's tough, it's corrosion resistant, it's locking mechanism works fine, it's impact resistant and it's cheap for the quality you get. I totally recommend it.

Great bit. Ultimately settled on this DEWALT one because I've owned a lot of DEWALT tools and none have disappointed me. Never in my life have I broken a DEWALT bit (unless I was doing something incredibly stupid with it). And so far this conversion bit lives up to that expectation. Used it with some impact sockets and a drill to un a poor mans automotive tool setup. Saved me some time and held together perfectly. It works well with my 1/2 inch sockets and adapted well to my drills as well. I will say the bits don't hold on 100% snug on the 1/2inch end. There is a little play. But I think here they were just trying to get happy middle between ease of socket removal and how well the bit holds. And to those ends I feel like they were successful. Theres enough play and wiggle room to allow easy socket removal but not enough so that it feels dangerous at any time. Great piece. P.S. Stay away from the Chinese manufactured pieces. Some of them are straight up dangerous. Especially if the price looks too good to be true. There are likely corners being cut in terms of materials. Last thing you want is for a bit to break on your while working with a drill. Get something with trusted quality, might not be this exact bit but make sure you pay the premium. Besides, these things are pretty much buy-it-for life type deals.
