Tile Luggage Tag for Tile Slim (2016) - Discontinued by Manufacturer

I got my first Tile Mate back in the summer of 2016 and put it on my keyring. It continues to work well and responds perfectly to queries from my iPhone app. Tile has now made three additional varieties of this finding device available: Slim, Sport, and Style. Slim is simply a new form factor of Mate, flatter and better able to be inserted into tight spots like a billfold. Style and Sport have two appearances with the same electronic guts, and both have twice the range of Mate/Slim, double the volume, and superior water and dust resistance.So here we have a luggage tag designed specifically for Tile Slim. Slim simply gets attached to the back of this container and the entire assembly then gets strapped to your luggage. That's where this product loses me. First off, if my luggage has been stolen, the first thing someone would do is take off the rather obvious Tile strapped to the handle and crush it. If my luggage hasn't been stolen but is making its way through a United Airlines cargo hold, I expect the strap to catch on something, be ripped off, and I would see my Tile going to Cleveland, then back to Omaha, then back to Cleveland, then....you get the picture. So I'm probably going to put the Tile inside the outer pocket of the suitcase, in which case I'll want the more powerful Tile Style or Tile Sport rather than the Slim. And I won't need the Luggage Tag at all. No?Ultimately if you figure out an application that makes sense for this, then you've got to overcome the cost, which is somewhat steep for a faux-leather band and square of formed aluminum.

This is NOT a tracking tile!!!! It is only simply A CASE for a slim tile.

This was totally helpful. I'm always nervous when I check my bags that the airlines will lose them, and I was able to track them coming off the plane into the baggage claim. It gave me a sense of security.

When I ordered this luggage tag, I didn't realize that the actual tracker device is sold separately. Based on the price, I thought that the Tile Slim was included. Because of this, I haven't gotten a lot of practical use out of the tag, but it does seem very shiny and sturdy. It would be helpful if it was more obvious that the Tile was sold separately, or maybe they could just include it as part of the package.

As soon as I saw this PoS, I knew that it would not last one trip. It didn't.It was not on my suitcase the first time that I picked it up from the baggage carousel. The metal bracket that holds the leather strap to the body of the bag is very weak. I predicted that it would break, and I was right, despite my efforts to "protect" it a bit. I still have to write to get my money back.

As a Tile holder, this is a decent piece of equipment for luggage. You can attach it via the adhesive or the zip strap. I should also note there is exactly one holder in the package. None of the other equipment. Most people have more than one article when they go on vacation. The price for one holder is quite high. And I can see the adhesive separating in the future. If you have the Slim, you will like the holder to go on your purse or luggage as an attractive metal decoration. If you have the app and the Bluetooth portion, you can follow your luggage.

Doesn’t function as expected. Didn’t find my luggage on carousel from 15 ft away. Can’t get volume loud enough in baggage claim.

Don't buy this. They make it sound like it's a tracker. I got the 'tile' and it amounts to an incredibly expensive luggage tag. You have to order the tile luggage tag AND the tracker. Tracker is sold separately but it's certainly NOT clear when you buy this item. RIP OFF!!!
