I was getting an air bubble in the pool pump strainer basket. This time just cleaning the seating groove and relubricating the o-ring eliminated the air in-leakage' however, I wasn't sure that was going to work so bought a spare. In the past I've had o-rings elongate or become physically damaged. The oem versions have seemed to me to survive and function longer that generic versions I have bought.

Starite Max E Pro pump cover gasket: good fit.-I had been ignoring the air in the pump for a while-Before install, I lubed the track in which it sits, and the top of the o-ring after I placed it in.-Lubing the o-ring will allow you to tighten the cover properly.no air leaks into the pump after install.

This product was not in pentair packaging so I do not believe this is a genuine pentair product, but it does work.
