This book is great. It has so much information. Great for beginners. It also shows some music theory.

I have used this book successfully to help beginners become proficient playing the electric bass. It is bound with a plastic comb for easy handling of the pages when playing from the book.Book One covers the first five frets (positions), sight-reading, common bass lines, patterns and rhythms. It studies more than 100 songs, riffs and provides clear examples to assist the student complete any assignment at home.Book Two covers the box shape and how to move across the fingerboard, notes on the fifth position, the fundamentals of the major and minor scale, traditional blues lines and shuffle rhtyhm, as well as an introduction to reading tablature.Book Three covers more songs, riffs and other examples, sixteenth notes, chord symbols, hammer ons & pull offs, other styles and patterns.Eric Friedman does a thorough job with this instructional series.

Nice bass method. All the songs are on YouTube just search for it. I love it. Learning a lot.

A great place to start and any instructor should be able to teach from it.

I enjoy learning bass this way. There are few songs interspersed in the material, but it focuses on building techniques and learning notes. There are good resources for learning songs outside of the book. I’m making good progress using this book. If you practice and follow it diligently, then so will you!
