2Pac vs Biggie: An Illustrated History of Rap's Greatest Battle

Interesting
Interesting if you're curious about the music and artists and know nothing about either before you pick up the book. It left me wanting to know more about the popular culture that spawned both. But the authors seem too idolizing, especially of Biggie, to be objective.

The definitive 2Pac + Biggie Bible
A meticulously researched and tightly written history of rap's most enduring and mythologized rivalry. The authors' distinct styles reflect those of their respective subjects, and their prose snaps with the same electricity that charged the best Pac and Biggie tracks. This book should be dogeared by the time you're done with it.

Excellent
A lot of ink has been spilled about these two giants, but rarely has such insight been so deftly delivered. Before reading this, I knew a good deal about Biggie but not much about Tupac, so I can firmly say that this is a must-read for expert and amateur alike. Highly recommend.

Great intro to two artists everyone has seemingly exhausted
Both the information and the layout left a lot of knowledge to be absorbed. The intermittent infographics and timelines made it feel more like a website than a book (which is a good thing). Overall, the writing on Tupac seemed to overshadow that of Biggie, but both were still very informative.

Boo.
Ridiculously one sided, horribly written, with annoyingly bad "art". I thought I was going to get some detailed answers and background. The author spends more time on praise and song analysis. One of those books that tries so hard to be edgy and hip - it just ends up looking foolish and needy.

Great read
Loved this book. Took an really interesting, new approach on a topic that's only really been touched upon in the context of gangster rap and their deaths.

abit intellectual in parts but not a bad effort at comparing two of raps giants and biggest influences both badly missed
