Q: Would this protect you from smaller particulates?

Hey, thanks for the question. Yes, the material is made from a compressed foam. It works well against most fine dust particles found on a construction site like dust from sheetrock/plaster sanding. As long as the particles are not much smaller than this type of dust, you're okay. What type of dust did you specifically have in mind?

Q: Can you wear these under a mask?

I suppose you could but I find it a little hard to breathe when wearing them and then adding a mask I think would even make it worse.

Q: You put that this product has a niosh rating of 8. what does that mean? 80% or 8%? how does that compare to an n95 niosh approved mask?
