Perfect fit for old Dahon Curve D3: With 1 (Must Read) Caveat!
This SENQI (BSZ002) is as close as you can get to a factory fit bike stem replacement for an old Dahon Curve D3. It was super-easy to install for me as a novice bike repair dad and folding bike newbie. Before I go on about how happy I am about the results and benefits of this third-party replacement part, I must emphasize that THE BSZ002's HANDLEBAR FOLDS TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE (see photo) of the bike than the original bike stem. After the bike is initially folded, the SENQI (after it's properly released) folds down to the front wheel side instead of the crank side of the big. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A DEALBREAKER FOR ME! it only adds less than few inches to the width. It's barely noticeable to me, fits into a generic bike bag, and I'm "good to go" for bus rides, BART, and Amtrak. The SENQI BSZ002 is about a third of the price than an OEM stem (if you can even find one), and you don't have to talk to "that bike store guy" that's going to try to sell you a new 'folder with an electric motor for 2k! It feels just as sturdy and lightweight as the original aluminum set with nearly the same extension and feel. The folding clamp system is larger (and better in my opinion), and the plastic safety latch is totally different (not quite as good as the original), otherwise it's almost an exact match (see photo). I was even able to swap out the thumb clamps for the handlebars and stem extension with my throwback vintage set that came with the bike!

Solved a big problem I was having with my folding bike
The existing stem on my bike folded down to the left, so when the bike was actually folded, the handlebar lay sandwiched between front and back wheels. This not only reduce the compactness of the bike for transportation, but created huge problems with cables snagging and tangling up with pedals etc. during unfolding. This stem has resolved the issue, as it folds to the opposite side (down to the right) and means the handlebars are now on the outside of the front wheel, when the bike is folded. Perfect! The stem seems good quality and the mechanism feels solid - there is little to no 'play' in the column when extended to maximum (whilst maintaining the minimum insertion - as marked on the stem). The quick release clamp for the handlebars is also a nice feature, as it gives more flexibility with angle adjustment. It's also extremely versatile if you have a Brompton/Chopper style high rise handlebar setup. The only slight niggle I have (but in no way a deal-breaker), is the rotating plastic clip, that secures the handlebar's folding lever. You need to adjust the tightness of the clip with a Philips screwdriver, to prevent it being too stiff/loose when rotating it.Apart from this minor thing, it's pretty solid so far and recommended - and, needless to say, this is the ideal solution for anyone having the same issues as I had.

Dahon Lenkervorbau
Ich habe das Teil nach Rücksprache mit dem Fahrradfachgeschäft zurückgegeben. Es lagen deutlich Abweichungen vom Original beim Klappmechanismus und Qualitätsmängel vor.

Fits the Oyama CX-E8D 2!
Fits my Oyama CX-E8D 2! Note, the bike stem will now fold outwards instead of inwards, but that's exactly what I wanted so it worked out for me. But do keep in mind the bike was not designed to fold in this way, so the two wheels have a tendency to split and open up if you try to move it while it's folded. I attached a little rope with a carabiner to keep the wheels locked together when it's folded (see photo). I will say the OEM bike stem has a better locking mechanism (it's one hand to open & lock and much easier to open) and there's a set screw to make sure the handle bar is pointed straight. This one does not have the set screw, so you just have to make sure you really tight down the bolt. This bike stem is also height adjustable (compared to the OEM handle bar), which allows me to sit more upright while riding.

Make sure your stem is the new style.
I bought this as the stem in my folding bike had a crack in it. It turned out this is the new style connection - I had the old style connection with the wedge in it - so it was incompatible.
