Fantastic design! Fun to modify
I had a lot of fun modifying this tomahawk. Out of the box it’s pretty solid. You do need to sand the handle so the head seats properly. Other than that it’s ready to go. I stripped off the coating, blued the head, burned and stained the handle. All together took me a couple hours now this thing looks fantastic

I-LIKE-IT !
I've had this particular item for maybe six (5) minutes now and I'm already a big fan! I am, however, glad I surfed for the best price instead of being a knee-jerk buyer. It's substantive but not large by a lot (which is no doubt due to my inability to visualize what I was getting despite HT/WT being posted).I am really, really pleased.

Not a total package
I'll start off with the bad. This hatchet needs some work out of the box. The handle looks to have been roasted or torched to remove moisture, but it is rough. A quick sanding and some oil brought into decent shape. Also the head is not attached, which is no big deal if you are prepared for it, but if you expect this thing to be ready out of the box then you will be disappointed. The head is easily seated, and secures decently with a rubber mallet, but mine still has a little wiggle and I will be shimming it before heavy use. Multiple reviews mention the edge as being only so-so, and it needs sharpening fairly quickly. The good. The handle grain is quite handsome; this is a good looking tomahawk. The head is a nice weight and overall the chogan feels well balanced. The roughness of the haft can actually be a benefit, it allows you to make it your own. Sand it to a profile you like, oil it, stain it if you wish, it can be easily customized unlike a polymer handle. The third plus is the price. This tool, if properly set up and cared for, feels like it will last a good long time and I would be very happy to finish one out and present it as a gift. .Over all I am quite happy considering the price, the main caveat would be that this is not a ready to use piece of kit. Consider it a 90-95% complete kit. Handle is shaped and partially finished, but fine detailing and final assembly are required.

Good not great
Tomahawk head is really nice. The handle did not fit well out of the box. It was loose and didn’t have much room for adjustment. I ordered a replacement handle at my own expense and it fit much better. Maybe I just got a bad one.

A Nice Lighter Weight Version of Woods Chogan
I own the Woods Chogan version and now have this one. Was looking for another hammer hawk like my Woods Chogan and this new one caught my eye. There is nothing wrong with the original and I use it for heavier chopping. When trekking thru the woods this new version is a bit easier on my older body. The Hammer Hawk is very well made as all the CRKT hawks are. Though the Nobo is the lightest of CRKT hawks I required a hammer as well.

Could be better
Head didn’t fit firmly on the handle.I didn’t think I needed to finish their work so I returned it.

Needs work and sharpening
The handle needed work for a proper fit, and the blade needed sharpening for my needs.Only time will tell of it's durability. Would of been nice to have a proper sheath.
